I meet and talk to so many people who believe that ALL school librarians do is check out books and put them back once kids return them. Here is just SOME of what they ACTUALLY do. And not on this list: foster a lifelong love of reading. And what could be more important than that?

@kelseybogan We give away books from First Book Marketplace book boxes and also a staff member comes in to help families get logged into the parent portal (IC), so that gets us lots of foot traffic!
@coastielu@kelseybogan@StephDisneyFan I agree—if you already have a box fan, you can get 4 MERV 13 filters fairly cheap (Home Depot gives a discount on HDX filters when you buy 4). A roll of duct tape and some cardboard and you’re good to go!

43 or 44 states have the exceptions for these professionals/places that MT currently has—because schools, libraries, and museums aren’t the same as convenience stores selling “dirty” magazines. Let’s be real and protect our rights.
