Library Mice is 16 years old later this month. I have chosen 16 favourite posts from over the years, which I'm sharing, one a day on Instagram, but forgot to do it here. So here goes:
@lucasjmaxwell I have one who does this and leaves their little pile of comics where they sit (always in the same space). I just leave them there and every other day the titles in the pile change 😊
@DapsDraws funding was very different. There was so much hope and for a while there was a real focus on reading in general and lots on the under-fives. But cuts, parents working long hours plus the arrival of smart phones have done so much damage ☹️ 2/2

This is why while we, in secondary schools, work really hard around reading, it can be an uphill "battle" because students lost reading interest/stamina years ago. Having librarians in most secondaries but not in primaries is pointless and outdated.

@PaulWat5 Jeffers' title Begin Again isn't necessarily for children and isn't about kindness or refugees but more of a "we are one" message which I think is vital when fighting the "us and them" narrative we are seeing
