Not thrilled to see Cam Neely’s first official reference to Miller’s past convicted actions is that it was “a significant mistake.” What he did consistently over time to his victim was no mistake.
"Today the call has come for Gary Bettman to remove himself or be removed for the good of all. Perhaps with enough voices the ghosts of days present and past can effect positive changes to be made for the betterment of not only the NHL but for society in general."
Looking at all these prepared statements coming at the same time, it makes me feel that the meeting today was only for Bettman, Q and company to settle on what exactly to say from every party. Not about any actual accountability.
Worth remembering that the Blackhawks many months ago in their statement of defence wrote that allegations of abuse and a coverup had already been investigated and found to be without merit.
@TheYankoShow Sorry Steve; we disagree. I think not responding to this with respect and compassion for Rask when you don’t necessarily know the situation and *we are in a global crisis/pandemic* is a little ugly. I get the acerbic response but I think in light of Covid it doesn’t apply
@bruinsfan3725 That’s what I’m thinking too; reminds me of when he took a leave of absence the beginning of 2018-2019. I’m definitely Mildly Wowed this morning but if there’s anyone you want when Tuukka pulls out it’s Halak
Rask’s decision is of course surprising; this likely means that there’s a lot that has been going on behind the scenes for him. Maybe his recent comments weigh in on that and maybe they have nothing to do with it. Either way, it’s fine. Bruins still have Halak anyway😎
