The Millennial urge to hoard emails for an entire year "just in case" you need them, and then one day, for no reason, decide to purge every email ever sent by mankind.
I'm excited to be teaching my first course for an ischool... it is XML and Metadata. I miss teaching and it's my first time back after taking a break to finish my doctorate. :)
I made an infographic to explain updates to discovery for internal users instead of a long email. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to do this. It’s so much easier to see and explain the changes.
One of my irrational fears is getting lost in the woods and law enforcement decides to look at my search history & release it to the press. They find things like, “how to boil an egg,” “12x7,” and “what does it mean if my dog poops yellow?”
IEEE set up an SSO access point for us without consent/request. Is this normal? This is the first time a vendor has done this on our behalf. Typically, we would either request it or set it up ourselves but we don't use this method at present. Just curious if this is normal
I'm working on a task that should be so simple but my mind refuses to accept it. I'm over complicating simplicity, and that's really the story of my life.
@grodriguezlemus After falling behind I did a 100 day dissertation writing challenge that my colleague did to finish hers. Writing every day, even if just a sentence, for 100 days gave me significant progress. I did it twice. (200 days) until I finished.
@thephdstory I usually keep my email open all day with notifications during work hours. At night, I will check probably 2-3 times and once before bed and once after I'm awake in the morning. So all in all, entirely too much.
A contractor for the National Agricultural Library is hiring a librarian for the Smokey Bear Collection and I have never wished I had preservation and curation skillsets more than I do now.
