Large & powerful surf currently at south exposed beaches inc Queens Head, Lighthouse & Dunbogan beaches. Only expected to increase over coming days with Sunday/Monday the peak at around 3.5m.
Take care out there, beware of wave surges, avoid rock platforms at exposed locations.

Swell is starting to build this afternoon with its peak expected Tuesday. Whilst our protected north facing beaches may have appealing waves, we ask those who are not experienced surfers to please stay dry over the next 24-hours. The swell should dissipate by the end of the week.

A mass rescue occurred at 6pm yesterday at Town Beach with all 8 people being successfully rescued. One patient required oxygen and was taken to hospital due to water inhalation via ambulance. This was an incredible effort & outcome! Another family saved this Christmas.

🚩 Some ordinary conditions are expected at south exposed beaches on Tuesdays, but easing by the end of the week. Head to your north exposed beaches for the safest conditions. Town Beach & Flynns Beach are currently patrolled 7 days per week.

Lifeguards were tasked to Middle Rock shortly after 3pm this afternoon along with volunteer lifesavers in an IRB from Bonny Hills Surf Club.
With an incredible response, 5 people who were swept out by a rip, were able to be rescued.
2 patients were taken to hospital by Paramedics

At 6:30am this morning, lifeguards & other emergency services were alerted of a man suffering a medical incident whilst swimming at Flynns Beach. Members of public performed CPR until Paramedics arrived & the man was transported to hospital. Thoughts go out to the man & family.
