The slightly inappropriate side of embracing boat sh*t crazy & living on a sailboat with kids. #svlitha#lifeoffthedeepend Blog/Podcast/YouTube/Coaching
Dr appt yesterday…
Doctor: Is there a possibility of mold in your house?
Me: I live on a sailboat in New England. I don’t think there’s a possibility of mold NOT being in my house. In fact, I bet there’s mold on these jeans I’m wearing right now.

9 YO: So, people who live in a house have to pay for water?
Me: Yes
9 YO: People have to pay for power too? And rent?
Me: Yep.
9 YO: So why doesn’t everyone live on a boat?
Good question #boatkid
Our dinghy ran out of gas today while Tyler was less than halfway home. He says, “I’m going to tell my kids someday that I had to ride my bike two miles and then row across the harbor to get home from school”

Hey @clamberton7 Why does the weather map on 7 News not show water temp this week? That’s important info for us to follow since we live aboard a sailboat in Salem Harbor. I’ve been excited to watch the temp begin to slowly rise again!
Well-child questions at the kid’s annual checkup:
Nurse: How many times have you moved in the past 3 years?
Me and kids:😂😂😂
Nurse:🤔
Me: Well, we have moved more times than I can count. But we live on a sailboat so we bring our home with us where ever we go! #sailinglife
8 YO: I can’t sleep
Me: Count Sheep
8 YO: *looks at me like I have two heads* What? How?
ME: Close your eyes and imagine sheep jumping over a fence... and count them.
8 YO: *looks at me like I have two heads*
(The next morning:)
8 YO: It worked!! I’m so glad my mom is a witch!
Having discussions about Starship SN10 with our 14 YO aspiring rocket scientist, and he didn’t think that “dad joke”, Hey @elonmusk Maybe you should try @CocaCola and @MentosUS next time.” was funny.
I thought that taking my kids sailing would give them so much worldly knowledge. Instead,(back in the US) they have become these weirdos who don’t know you’re supposed to change your socks everyday, have never heard of a “weekend”, and don’t know what chapped lips are. #boatkids
8 YO (while showering at the marina):
I wish you could adjust the temperature of the ocean like you can the shower.
She was talking about turning it up here in snowy New England, but turning the ocean temp down where coral is dying would be pretty amazing. ❤️

Guy on the dock: Is this your sailboat? It’s really nice. I assume you live aboard?
Me out loud: Yep.
Me in my head: I assume I look like a haggard sailor who couldn’t possibly own a house and this yacht at the same time.
My kids had virtual doctor appointments today...
Doctor: Do you feel safe at home?
14 YO: Well, unless there’s a storm coming, but we have a really sturdy boat. So, yes.
