The 3-tier life model is becoming outdated. 1 in 3 workers are over 50 & many have specialist skills business can't afford to lose. Making #flexibleworking more accessible – and inclusive - is key. Read our report on older workers, with @Ageing_Better: https://t.co/Dn7SBUWXWk
Useful insights on the direction of travel for WFH, but also recognition still lot to learn eg on productivity, wellbeing etc and how to ensure fairness given the diff individual motivations and circumstances
Interesting map showing UK towns that have most WFH jobs https://t.co/I5ahHj9noU via @MailOnline. Shows how people and organisations are adapting and how we can attract talent and distribute work opps also supporting #LevellingUp
@annieauerbach And healthier, balanced and it helped us cope with a global pandemic and all that comes with that situation... and we proved we could be flexible in so many ways and maintain service levels. And we'd quite like the choice to keep some of that without the #flexguilt
@Cheese_Peter There's still many like this & they're unable to back it up with evidence-its all perception. We speak with many leaders who tell you how productivity improved tangibly during the pandemic but they want everyone back in "because it's better". Time to upskill leaders!!
Speaks volumes of leadership that doesn’t trust the people who work for them, want to retain command & control & go back to what they’ve always known. This is a time for change & leaders need to engage with their people to learn and adapt https://t.co/wTCiNMGL67
@Cheese_Peter Fast, knee jerk reactions on pay and benefits will reduce that potential. Pre Covid people who had the ability to work flexibly and wfh wanted pay increases to go into an workplace more....if businesses aren't careful the drive to control could increase costs not reduce!!
@Cheese_Peter This will be interesting to watch...there seems to be the forgotten element that travelling to the business heart or hub to collaborate & connect will still be needed. Widening the ways of work widens the talent pool geography and helps attract the best and most diverse talent/
Hey Twitter! - Any men out there who liked working remotely or differently during the pandemic? How do you feel about going back to the office/worksite?
Especially if you became a more active dad or caregiver. Writing.

People worked from home for a year, and the sky didn’t fall. People worked harder and became more efficient.
🚆Time once wasted on commuting was reallocated
🧘Flexibility made it easier to pivot between work and life

#IWD2021#ChooseToChallenge
Here at The Lightbulb Tree we choose to challenge the way of work - to create a workplace that offers choice, trust and is equal meaning women can maximise their careers without minimising their lives

Hmm, was this proper research or just a view from an interested party... Let’s learn from this time to find more flexible & hybrid ways of working that support more choice, inclusion, wellbeing, and change past cultures of presenteeism https://t.co/Mzo2wUz11g
@Cheese_Peter People are fatigued for many reasons which only helps highlight the need for wellbeing to be central to ways of working. Sad many only seem to see extremes - office /home rather than the hybrid /flexible possibilities
@Cheese_Peter Good question @Cheese_Peter and totally agree on what can be possible! This is such an amazing opportunity to move our ways of working forward to benefit all with a choice, trust and outcomes approach 1/2
