Celebrating seven years of live streaming judgment: ‘Indira Jaising vs Secretary General, Supreme Court’. All credit to former CJI U U Lalit for bringing the judgment into force which introduced transparency & accountability in the functioning of judiciary.
Is this man fit to b a judge ? He claims , falsely , that all women of a particular village go to the leader on getting married on” fist night” they are then “ second hand” The same judge who apologised to the SC for his obscene and anti secular comments i @TheLeaflet_in
.@JohnReedwrites has lunch with @IJaising

“The rule of religion is replacing the rule of law.... My rebellion as a woman, my right to work, my liberties which are guaranteed by the constitution — there is no other source of inspiration I can turn to.”
Allies. We need you now more than ever. Palestinians are not just mourning, we’re shouting into the void, and we’re losing our jobs and getting attacked on the street and arrested for protesting. We need you present, we need you consistent, we need you loud and clear.
If you were ally enough to vote Yes’, then there’s a few things you can do now.
1. Listen to Aboriginal people.
2. Get that this isn’t about you.
3. The hand-wringing surprise that Australia is racist is insulting. We’ve said it for years. Stop denying, and work to change it.
Mourning the social and political will of a nation that fails to take ownership of its historic failures and provide a ray hope for equality. Recognising the traditional owners does not end at symbol gestures and art exhibits. #Referendum2023#VoiceToParliament#YesToVoice
🚨 BREAKING
There will be a big announcement later tonight.
Prominent Indigenous leaders see this as a huge rejection. They see no hope for reconciliation
Meetings are being held now as to next steps. Likely to be a “period of mourning” from tomorrow.
@isabelkaplan @karunanundy Part 2 : The women's rights lawyer in me was fighting family for her dignity. My husband let me make national news about the incident. He fought the government in Australia and family in India for me. He is now helping me live my dream of helping women around me. He fights for me
@isabelkaplan My husband is my preserver and biggest cheerleader. Two years ago, I narrowly escaped murder and rape in a racially motivated hate crime. I was tortured by a stranger. I live with permanent emotional and physical damage. Family and most friends in India only victim blamed me.
@evolutionofjay 1. Lost family to covid in India.
2. Survived the world's longest lockdown in Melb.
3. Lived through a racist attack, saved myself and other women from being killed and raped for our brown skin.
4. Beat a tumour.
5. Fought depression.
6. Made a new country home.
Phew!!!
Workers in Australia didn’t resign from their jobs in the wake of COVID, but they did burn out.
💼 As @leahruppanner + colleagues (@UniMelb) found, "flexible workers had more energy for their work and a greater motivation to do their jobs". https://t.co/UCOrnoJmCm
Another day, another conversation with an Uber driver who has spent $170k on Australian degrees (MA, ANU), but can’t work in his field because visa. There’s a disconnect here: if migrants are investing this much in us, surely we can give them a leg up?
