This guy can’t stop lying…
He claims his scam of telling people he was going to get $5 million dollar payout from Apex while absolutely blowing every rule possible. But didn’t tell his followers this truth.
Apex put an end to the shenanigans back in feb 2026 not 2 years ago Brian… @jmutrades got receipts sir
The SmartProp is clearly not smart enough to get caught
Most of these influencers, if they could actually trade they would be set for life from all their affiliate commissions
But they just gamble it away back to the same firms that pay them
🤣🤣🫠
I had been in Lanto’s Discord from early 2023 until earlier this year. I defended him from naysayers in the group and on X, distilled his content into guides early on, and built the chatbot that new members used. This weekend’s fiasco confirmed conclusively what OGs had been flagging for some time.
Fintwit prop firm influencers are “successful” through survivorship bias and volume, not edge.
Buy enough independent attempts and pure luck eventually produces large winners, even when the underlying approach has little or no positive expected value once net on the portfolio is established. Those big runs are the ones that the public gets to see. The average guy in the audience is running 2, 4, maybe 5 accounts on average while paying discord fees to "learn how to trade"
Recent public examples among many in the fintwit affiliate and influencer space:
@dhesi_trades - 170+ accounts
@thebrianstonk - 240+ accounts
@lanto_trades - 819+ accounts
5-6 in eval or S2F fees on just one firm.
Eventually something hits. The run gets screenshotted and turned into content that's used for the next 10 months of promotions for the group, or pushed in promo videos encouraging use of an affiliate code. The costs typically don't see the light of day. Screenshots get cropped (usually), account numbers are hidden, the actual PNL on the machine is kept private.
The machine:
1. subscription fees, course sales, and affiliate commissions fund more accounts
2. more accounts make a big winner close to inevitable
3. the big runs, sell more subscriptions, courses, and garner more aff code use
Repeat.
The prop firm space is inherently dirty, relies on ponzinomics, and is unfixable; it's by design.
But the affiliate and furu space - that props implicitly encourage - is dirtier.
Fresh cash from courses, subs, and affiliate payouts keeps the account volume flowing so the occasional big payouts can be marketed as a skill taught to their followers.
The trading can lose money, but the machine still wins, because the audience pays for step 2 of the machine.
Now look at what's sold. Courses, discord subs, mentorships, and an implied promise to teach a skill to escape the rat race.
Learn this IFVG. Take this unicorn. Manage your risk. Trade the system. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and use code DUMB.
The average member can't play the volume game and nobody tells them that is in fact their mentor's game.
I left for three reasons: the quality of members in the group declined after the TPT run-up and subsequent repeat promotions leveraging that run, OGs who asked questions were treated poorly, and some kept raising exactly the disclosure issues that surfaced this weekend.
Buy enough attempts.
Hide or minimize the cost.
Market the winners as skill.
Accept money from people who cannot realistically replicate the process.
You can pick whatever word or phrase you want for this machine that is pervasive in this "industry."
Mine is "fraud."
LeBron James is a faggot. If you like LeBron you are a faggot. If you have a LeBron jersey you are a mega faggot. If you have LeBron posters on your wall you are an Ultra Jewish faggot.
this will be my last post on the matter. read it. it's important.
lanto opened this up.
he renamed his vest accounts so his screenshots showed accounts 41 to 50 when he was on account 819. he told someone he spent "$21k" when it was around $300k. then he admitted on video, "i completely understand how this could have been misleading."
the P&L was real. the cost behind it was hidden, and those posts were selling code SMART and his discord. 3 firms cut ties with him within hours.
and it's the same playbook across the group.
the live logins i've seen only ever show the 1D view. big green days get posted, the red days and the account spend don't.
then it's affiliate codes, and now https://t.co/dQAFyDpXnI, where you leave your name, number and email and "a team member will reach out to you" about an application-only program.
one guy doing this is one thing. this is a group with 230k+ followers across X, youtube and instagram between them, tied to the same affiliate company. smart prop firm says it has 20k+ active traders, and vest says lanto's commissions ran through a code shared with brian and dhesi.
every road points beginners the same way: a discord, code SMART, a sales funnel. that's not one bad post, it's a business model.
this is exactly what the FTC and state attorneys general go after. section 5 of the FTC Act bans deceptive marketing, and an ad can be deceptive even if you never meant it to be. posting payouts while leaving out what it cost to get them can count. so can pushing a code without saying you get paid on it.
every state has its own version of that law, and AGs enforce it:
- in august idaho's AG settled with justin werlein of tactical traders. his ads said he went from delivering pizzas to $700k+ in trading profits, then he admitted he never made a profit. he's barred from running a similar business and has to refund customers.
- the FTC and nevada's AG sued IM Mastery Academy in 2025 over trading earnings claims aimed at young people.
- warrior trading paid $3M after the FTC said its "results not typical" disclaimers didn't fix its earnings claims.
beginners are the ones buying the evals, paying for the discord and filling out the form. that's who these laws protect.
Another dirtbag exposed @lanto_trades
Selling dreams for mentorship fees and they are basically gambling the funds behind the scenes for clout.
Dont get me wrong he makes money but not the way he “teaches” people it can be done.
He’s dishonest and clearly can’t be trusted.
But wait there’s more.
So @lanto_trades thinks he can now come clean and then just do a giveaway to make this all blow over 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bro ur not sorry for what u did. Ur sorry you got caught.
I've received my first payout!
This picture represents 3 years of relentless work and dedication
I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started this journey
A lot of frustration and doubt, but even more growth and discipline is what it brought me
More to come 🚀
