We might then find out just how much benefit these interventions confer long term, without needing to perform experiments on children too young to give meaningful consent.

Read the testimony of the ever-expanding numbers of detransitioners. Grasp that these young people, many of them extremely vulnerable - autistic, care-experienced, abuse survivors, same-sex attracted in unsupportive families - have been irreparably harmed, left with their fertility destroyed, unending medical complications and profound psychological damage.

This is a medical scandal of epic proportions and people of power and influence are still too frightened of trans activists and trans lobby groups to do the right thing and put an end to the insanity. Kids are being sacrificed to ideology and cowardice.

They published the conversion therapy bill this morning. I’ve read all 20 pages so you don’t have to. It’s worse than the press release admits.

Doctors are protected; the bill carves them out.

Mums aren’t. There’s no equivalent line anywhere in it for a parent.

And “emotional pressure” is written in as something that can make your conduct “abusive.”

So a mum who urges her daughter to wait, to be at peace with her body, is left to a prosecutor’s view of whether that was abuse. She could get up to 5 years in prison.

It goes further. The police or your local council can ask a court to order you to stop, before any charge, before any offence, and even without you in the room to defend yourself. Breaking that order is itself a crime.

Hilary Cass was reassured doctors could keep working. Fine. Now show me the line that protects a mother.

There isn’t one.

It needs stopping.

Here it is in all its grotesque glory: a child (a literal child) being forced into marriage with an old man while her family and community look on as the groom claims his "prize".

This isn’t some quaint cultural ritual. This is child trafficking wrapped in the language of tradition. An innocent girl’s life stolen so an aging predator can have a wife he can control and a family can offload a "burden."

Laws exist.
They are ignored.
Communities enable it.
Old men participate without shame.
And the rest of the country pretends this is someone else’s problem until another viral clip like this forces the horror back into view.

If your first instinct is to defend this as "culture," you are part of why it continues.

A child is not a bride.
Period.

Meet Bumpy!

This enchanting little chap was rescued over the weekend. His mother likely died defending him in a territorial fight and when the Kenya Wildlife Service found him, he was huddled beside her body. They rescued him and placed him in our care.

This was Bumpy's first night with us, snuggled next to Keeper Simon. Simon put his mattress on the ground and the tiny hippo nestled by his side, swaddled in his cherry blanket. After his fraught ordeal, he finally felt at peace and slept soundly in the crook of Simon's arm.

We've all rightly been outraged at the way the disability charity @scope treated @jan_murray's choir by dropping them from performing at Sunday's London Marathon and then (presumably having sought legal advice) reinstated them in *very* bad grace.

It's a scandal that cancellations like this for legally-held beliefs are still happening.

However, I think many people have forgotten what Scope is supposed to do and what implications this attitude from its leadership has for the (actually) most vulnerable people in society.

Scope is a disability charity. Its remit is to campaign and lobby on behalf of disabled people, to provide information, advice and support when they need it and to create opportunities for disabled people.

How can disabled people trust Scope to have our interests at heart when it has demonstrated such intolerance for sex realist views?

In particular, how can disabled women who need same-sex care trust Scope to advocate on their behalf, provide them with accurate and up to date information and advice on this subject and to support them - and give them a voice - when they need it most?

Disabled people - especially women - who need care face extreme risk from those who are supposed to provide it. Disabled women are physically and sexually assaulted by male carers at a sickening rate.

Same-sex intimate care for disabled women who require it is an urgent priority.

But the major disability charities, including Scope, do not agree. They've been silent on the matter for years. They're silent because they've pulled a Stonewall; they know they'll lose donations if they work in the interests of the people who need them most.

And yet they hoover up donations from brilliant, well-meaning people who don't know this.

So can everyone who has been so brilliantly vocal in support of Jan's choir please, please also consider contacting Scope to ask them about their policy regarding same-sex intimate care for disabled women?

Could you ask them what they do and plan to do to lobby for same-sex care, to support disabled women who need it and to make the voices of those women heard?
