This is me right now. Two years ago I was shot during the June 25 Gen Z protests. I've been living with a spinal cord injury since, and I self-catheterize because of neurogenic bladder.

That led to recurring UTIs and sepsis. Today I successfully underwent surgery at Emory Hospital Nairobi to remove a bladder stone at my left vesico-ureteric junction (5x7mm). The fragments were removed. I'm recovering now with some pain and bleeding, which the doctors say is normal.

@VOCALAfrica_ helped me get here, and I'm grateful. But I still need medication, physiotherapy and follow-up care. I still haven't received any government compensation.

The High Court has rejected a petition seeking to stop the IEBC from tallying and verifying presidential results at the national tallying centre.

The court ruled that the IEBC can check and add up the results, but cannot change figures declared at constituency level.

Salome Wanjiku Nduta is a Kenyan working in the Middle East. She says she deposited money that ended up in the wrong bank account through NCBA Bank. According to her account, she reported the matter to NCBA and the bank assured her the money would be refunded. She says thirteen days have now passed since her report.

She claims NCBA has been ignoring her calls and not responding to her emails. According to Salome, the bank initially gave her three days to wait for a resolution. She says she waited the three days and received no response.

She called again and sent another email, and says the bank then asked her to wait seven more days. After she followed up again, she says NCBA sent her a message claiming the client did not respond to their calls.

Frustrated, she sent another email, and says the bank then told her the client had withdrawn some of the money. Salome says she does not know what to do next since she is not in Kenya and has been doing all the follow up from abroad.

She says she has evidence of the account details she sent to the bank. She also claims to have evidence from a meeting where the bank allegedly confirmed the money was sitting in the account of one of its own members and that they were following up on it.

She says the bank has since gone silent and has not told her when the money will be refunded. Salome is now appealing for public attention, saying she believes social media can help give a voice to people in situations like hers.

She shared a copy of an email she sent to NCBA Customer Service, in which she states the amount involved is KES 366,000. In that email she says she made several calls and sent multiple emails without getting a clear response.

She says she was given different explanations each time she called. In the email, she asks NCBA to immediately investigate and recall the funds. She also asks for a written update on her case and a case or reference number.

She further asks the bank to explain the delay and to give her a timeframe for recovering her money. These claims are Salome's own account of events. NCBA Bank has not yet responded publicly to these specific allegations.

I have seen a trend on TikTok where parents are saying when they realized they lost their connection with their children. The stories there are heart breaking 😭😭😭😭 . There is one that I found particulary sad , it says a man went to pay school fees and found children leaving for a school trip . He was surprised because his son never mentioned anything about that school trip , he found him in the class room alone reading a book . The son said he knew he would have said no and didn't bother.
Another one always thought his daughter was a quite girl , he took her to his sisters over the holidays and told her as much. When it was time to go pick her up ,he could hear her from the gate laughing and talking . Turns out it years of telling her to shut up had made her quite. Her sisters husband was more laid back and never complained when the children played around him . After a few days of being quiet she learnt it was safe to talk and play around the house.

A mother and her three young children were trapped inside an upside-down SUV that was filling with water in a Florida canal.

One of the little boys was banging on the door, screaming that his mom’s head was underwater.

That’s when Casey Curtis heard the cries and ran toward the canal. He reached the submerged SUV and started pulling the children out one by one, getting all three to safety.

But their mother was still inside.

Casey went back to the vehicle and found her unconscious, still buckled into her seat with her head underwater. He lifted her face above the water, realized she wasn’t breathing and gave her a breath right there in the canal.

She started breathing again.

The mother spent several days in intensive care, but she survived. All three of her children survived too.

Those kids watched a stranger pull them from a sinking SUV, then turn around and go back into the water for their mom when she couldn’t save herself. Casey Curtis is the kind of person people should know about.
