As a prolific deep-ocean explorer, James Cameron has frequently visited the abyssal plains where #nodules are found. In a new @guardian interview he noted that ‘his time in rarely visited parts of the planet has swayed him in support of deep-sea mining.’

JUST IN: Illinois is set to become the first state in the nation to eliminate cash bail after the state Supreme Court justices ruled that a landmark criminal justice reform law did not violate the state’s constitution. https://t.co/AoDfWgwGG3
Science journalism is critically important in an era of misinformation and fake news. It is quite encouraging to see one of the best journalists in the field tackle the issue of public fear. From vaccines, climate change, to radiation, there are still reliable ways of knowing.
Watch the radiation hype build around tritium releases both in Japan and in the Hudson River, where environmentalists have been quick to amplify public fears around Indian Point decommissioning releases rather than offer actual guidance. The shame there is that the same groups (@riverkeeper) signed on to the decommissioning plan. I still think Spencer Weart's History of #NuclearFear is a vital read https://t.co/ywPvTQ0IvJ, as is @GeorgeMonbiot of course:
Serious FOMO as I leave the @ANS_org annual meeting early but I’m glad I made it out for two fantastic sessions with the great experts contributing to the Rapid Response Task Force. Thanks to great team @theboxindy for all the technical assistance and hospitality.
Kudos to the team responsible for the full house at the #NuclearNowFilm DC premiere! @TheOliverStone & @GoldsteinJoshua thoughtfully capture its history and why we need nuclear - fission and fusion. Check it out in theaters nationwide
This is an important reminder on the constraints of repurposing existing natural gas pipeline infrastructure for hydrogen. It can be done, but with severe constraints on how much hydrogen can be transported.
@HMNorthey@ENERGY@EENewsUpdates I look forward to reading more @HMNorthey - particularly on how fast OEM's can retool production lines once new, better batteries are available. @IEA shows mineral demand could quadruple before better batteries are available. Big supply gap to fill by 2035!
@knarren_rik @ArcticBasecamp Swiss @RailService is quite popular and more frequently used than private jets. Also, SBB has best transit apps I’ve ever used.
There are now over 130 fusion devices in the world: public and private, operating, under construction or being planned! Plus 11 demonstration fusion power plants in the pipeline #fusion#energy@iaeaorg https://t.co/jLDd2QWZGP
Live now - courtesy of @Filecoin and @CNBC - Oliver Stone on #nuclearnow based on the book a Bright Future! So great to see nuclear energy discussed during #wef2023
