Today, as we commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, I join the people of Kaduna State and the global community in celebrating the strength, resilience, creativity, and enduring contributions of women to the progress of our societies. Across generations, women have shaped our communities with courage and quiet determination, often carrying the burdens of change while inspiring hope for a better future.
This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” offers a powerful reflection on the path to meaningful progress. It reminds us that when societies make deliberate investments in women and girls; through education, leadership opportunities, economic empowerment, and social inclusion, the rewards are profound and far-reaching. Empowered women strengthen families, enrich institutions, stimulate economic growth, and help build more stable and prosperous societies.
In Kaduna State, we are committed to translating this principle into purposeful action. Our administration continues to expand opportunities for women across governance, enterprise, and community development. Through policies and programmes that promote inclusion, protect the rights of women and girls, and support women-oriented initiatives, we are steadily dismantling barriers that have long limited their participation in public and economic life.
Kaduna is proud to be setting a meaningful example. Women today serve with distinction in key leadership roles across our government and public institutions, contributing their insight, discipline, and compassion to the task of building a more inclusive and prosperous state. Their presence affirms a simple but powerful truth: when women are empowered, societies flourish.
As we celebrate this important day, let us renew our collective resolve to create a future where every woman and girl can realise her full potential. By giving women the opportunities, respect, and support they deserve, we ensure that our state, and indeed our nation, will truly gain.
Happy International Women’s Day.
