Yesterday, ahead of the 2026 TVET Sub‑Sector Working Group Retreat that kicked off today, participants visited industries to strengthen academia–industry linkages and gain first‑hand insights into workforce needs, emerging technologies, and evolving practices.
These engagements enabled direct interaction with employers, identification of key skills gaps, and exploration of practical ways to align TVET training with labour market demands—ensuring graduates are equipped with future‑ready skills.

Madame Léna DIOP WATT, Spécialiste de programme de Formation et insertion professionnelle des jeunes à l’Institut de la Francophonie pour l’éducation et la formation (IFEF), a déclaré que le lancement d’Inserjeune Rwanda marque, une fois de plus, l’attachement à la coopération entre @OIFrancophonie , qui a soutenu le développement d’Inserjeune, et le Rwanda. Elle a félicité la RTB pour son engagement à promouvoir l’Enseignement et la Formation Techniques et Professionnels, offrant aux jeunes des compétences directement applicables au marché du travail.
Today, a delegation of partners led by the World Bank’s Regional Director for Human Development, Daniel Dulitzky, visited @GarageAtecar to engage with trainees enrolled in the @SDF_Rwanda . The delegation toured the workshops, where trainees showcased the practical skills they have developed through the program.
In the first two phases, the Skills Development Fund (SDF) trained 23,296 beneficiaries, 84.3% of whom secured employment. In this third phase, the program aims to train more than 70,000 beneficiaries over the next four years.
This afternoon, a World Bank delegation led by Mr. Qimiao Fan, Division Director For Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia and Uganda; and Sahr Kpundeh, Rwanda Country Manager, visited C&D Products Rwanda, a clothing company that trains and employs Rwandan youth in garment manufacturing through the Skills Development Fund (SDF) Program.
The purpose of the visit was to observe the progress achieved and the tangible impact of the program on skills development and employability. C&D Products Rwanda currently employs more than 7,000 people, with plans for further expansion. Notably, 3,227 employees have been trained and hired through the SDF program since the partnership began in 2020.
The overall objective of @SDF_Rwanda is to support the development of a dynamic, skilled, and competitive workforce in line with Rwanda’s National Skills Development and Employment Promotion Strategy (NSDEPS).
Today, under the @SDF_Rwanda program, 700 young Rwandans engaged in informal businesses successfully completed the Basic Business Training funded by the Rwanda TVET Board. All the beneficiaries came from across the @CityofKigali, with 52% being female and 48% male.
Today at the #TVETExpo2025 and #SkillsCompetition, we had the honour of hosting Ambassador Philipp Stalder (@SwissMFAafrica). Following a tour of the expo, and skills competition area, he expressed pride in contributing to Rwanda’s TVET advancement through @SwissDev and was highly impressed by the skills showcased. #FutureSkillsForum #NanjyendiTVET
Today, we officially launched the #TVETExpo2025 and #SkillsCompetition, a national platform to showcase innovation, strengthen partnerships, and promote demand-driven skills development.
The event was officiated by Hon. @CNkulikiyinka, Minister of Public Service and Labour, and Hon. @ClaudetteIrere, Minister of State for Education, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to skilling Rwanda’s youth for the labour market.
