This isn't quite right @BritainElects
2 seats fought in 2021. The one in the 2023 by-election was the one won by @lilyfitzg2 with 45.6% of the vote, so more accurately it's
GRN 50.2% (+4.6)
LAB: 38.1% (+11.4)
and so on
And yes, it's literally a few votes, turnout down by half
If you are particularly interested in the arcane machinations of the @BristolCouncil budget meeting. @adam_ldr is doing a fine job of live-tweeting it.
Hope you can make our rally tomorrow (Sat 4th Feb). 12 noon on College Green. Time to come together to show our support for people & planet and call for coherent planning laws that at the moment are out-dated in allowing a major carbon emitter like @BristolAirport - to expand.
🟢 .@TheGreenParty's win in a local Bristol by-election also means that they now hold 12 of the 14 council seats in the new Bristol Central constituency.
Bristol Airport expansion allowed by the High Court.
This is a devastating outcome. It tramples on local democracy and would mean 1000s of extra flights producing a million tonnes of CO2 equivalents every year.
@baancc are going to try to take it to the Court of Appeal.
So excited to see Ashley Down Primary on this list. We know that parents have been asking for this for a long time and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the school on this front!
We're looking to create three School Streets in Bristol at:
🏫 Ashley Down Primary School
🏫 Fair Furlong Primary School
🏫 St Bernadette Catholic Primary School
School Streets reduce congestion and pollution and make it safer to get to school.

"People from further out may use the residential streets around the station as a free park-and-ride, and so we will continue to put pressure on the administration for a residents' parking zone," said @bristolgreen councillor @lilyfitzg2
