I'm not worried about AI taking my job.
My boss only trusts humans because he can berate them, harass them, make them cry and humiliate them.
Or maybe AI will do my job and we'll just get paid to hang around the office for him to yell at.
ChatGPT has crossed 1M+ users in just 5 days.
To compare, it took Netflix 41 months, FB - 10 months, and Instagram - 2.5 months.
But many haven’t yet realized its full potential.
Here are the 10 mindblowing things you can do using it right now:
Introducing the @sequoia Gen AI Market Map!🌎 We’ve decided to map out this emerging frontier, thanks to all the contributions and feedback we’ve received.
This space is moving quickly – this map is a living document, so keep the suggestions coming! Who else should we include?
@LaurenGolem @alexandr_wang We shouldn't even call it AI, some of my friends conflate it with sentience and the discussion gets weird. Calm down bro, it's python running on consumer hardware, it's not going to revolt against humans and launch nukes.
@wheresaddie My mom started with punched cards and never stopped. If she likes the tech it's probably some cryptic assembly-level stuff I'm too dumb to understand. Makes Christmas awkward when I proudly show my buggy python notebooks.
@neilturkewitz@iotdtytfu@HODLFrance I meant public domain, sorry. But what about private embeddings? In trad art I can use/mod previous works to an extent. If I make an embed with a dozen pics/artists and use it to guide the public model towards a custom style, is it fair use too? (I don't have the answer)
@neilturkewitz@iotdtytfu@HODLFrance It's not, just being a smartss. But I do want a viable legal status for AIart. Would you object to a model trained on public/opt-in data? If so, would it be fair use if an AI artist makes their own private embed with 5/6 pics, like for a trad. collage? No gotcha, genuine question.
@neilturkewitz@iotdtytfu@HODLFrance You're right, not the same thing. A sample is still a copy of the original work, an AI image is not. Want to see unethical corporate practices that hurt artists? Look at broadcasters, event producers and IP hoarders, not open-source AI models.
@KalTheCoder @EMostaque For entertainment sure, but it won't work for corporate videos. Kelly-from-marketing needs human interns to harass to justify her useless position. AI doesn't cry, that's not fun for poor Kelly.
@takyon@BHL Understandable. I'd really like to make a series of itws with philosophers, sociologists and artists about the fundamentals of art through the lens of machine generation. C'mon @francetele I have prod just need your order lol.
While I fully understand and support #aiartists going quiet to escape the toxicity, that's not the reason I'm not posting. I just haven't made anything worth sharing lately, and what I'm happy with would be more suitable for Onlyfans. #stablediffusionart#stableDifusion
Happy to announce the release of new state of the art open CLIP models to drive image classification and generation forward
@OpenAI’s release of the smaller CLIP models catalysed AI image gen as @advadnoun, @RiversHaveWings combined it with gen models 1/

Every time we generate something with #stablediffusion and other #AIart models, we actually create a complete reality within the #latentspace and merely retrieve some snaphots from a world that will continue without us. You can't convince me otherwise.
