"Not quite sure . . but I did hear Twi's name in there somehow.
Do you need me to come sleep with you tonight? I honestly don't mind the snorings, and I can always wake you up the next time you experience those."
A bark here, and a squeak over there, a genuine offer.
"Mhm! You were a sound sleeper alright."
Taking his precious time, Spike would pounce all the way up beside Sunset's resting head, tilting his own to the side.
"You were uh, mumbling . . yeah, not a big fan of bad dreams."
He proceeded to lick Sunset's cheek yet again, eventually pouncing atop of her.
"You're one of my best friends, Summer!
And uh, 'specially with what you and Twi got going on . . say, what's up with that? Do tell."
His tail continuously wagged, tongue sticking out yet again.
"Aww, shucks! I'm merely just a dog who happens to talk, and be supportive to his friends in his spare time, heh."
Well, don't mind if I do!
( the amount of joy that radiated from within Spike caused a series of squeaked barks to emit before inevitably digging into the piece of steak. )
"I mean, when you change, there's really nothing to look back on . . . especially the person you were before."
A paw would gently place itself against her lap.
"What matters is who you are right now, okay? Just look at what you have now."
"Oh . . ."
In an act of routine, the dog would pause for a moment to scratch behind one of his ears.
"You meant that time when you almost destroyed the school or . . .?
Sorry, uh – didn't mean to bring it up."
"Well, why don't you try breaking it down little by little? That usually helps!"
His nose twitched in response to the gentle gesture, tail already wagging with delight.
