Really good stuf here by @wildy_jj and British bobsleigh athlete @GregCackett 👏🏼👏🏼
If acceleration is important to you, I highly recommend taking 45 minutes to watch this

We have figured out that a relative front squat of 1.25-1.35 x BW seems to be that threshold of “strong enough” in our female athletes. Once athletes reach this stage we see a plateau in their speed, partly due to the volume needed to continually increase strength. (2/5)
I made this thing in @msexcel to help organize and efficiently navigate through research you've read. You can download it and I explain how it works, here (free):

A school superintendent said something profound in his address cancelling school for the next 3 weeks. He said: In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be QUITE apparent if we under reacted or did too little.
Hear those words....
@EatSleepTrain_@DHMov@spikesonly Circa 2001. "It is not the job of scientists to tell me how to train. It is the job of scientists to explain why - after the fact - what I do as a coach, refined through experience, actually works day-in and day-out!" CF
If you didn't know, I did a “fact check” and a deep dive into the science behind new film, The Game Changers, on The @joerogan Experience.

You always hold the rights to your effort, but never to your results.
Results are entitled to no one. At best, they are on loan and must be renewed each day.
All you own is the right to try.
Kid at skatepark (as I arrive): “you a good skater?
me: sometimes
him: you ever been here?
me: no
him: you travel a lot?
me: yes, perhaps too much
him: are you a YouTuber?
me: no, I’m just a skater and a dad
him: wanna see me do a jump?
me: absolutely
..and I then shot this pic
Here’s one more of Dan Cleather’s insights: “To run a 4 minute mile requires an athlete to run each 100m stretch in under 15 seconds. This is faster than many people’s absolute top speed."
This is an absolutely outstanding article on COD. This along w/work of @DocSoph and others tells us we need to work on COD and other Biomechanics in a structured way in tandem with broader agility and movement approaches and practice https://t.co/XvQb9XmYxY
If athletes are recovering between sets with their hands on their head (the traditional way most were taught), they are reinforcing poor breathing mechanics and recovery (Michaelson et. al 2019).
Hands on the knees is the way to go:
