The Government is addressing longstanding land tenure challenges in the Coast Region through the regularisation of settlements and the issuance of title deeds to residents, ensuring secure land ownership and protecting the rights of communities that have lived on the land for generations.
This intervention will enhance tenure security, reduce land-related disputes, unlock investment opportunities, improve access to credit and promote social and economic development by giving residents the confidence to develop their property and plan for the future.
Konza Technopolis is rapidly emerging as a major manufacturing and export hub through the development of the upcoming Export Processing Zone (EPZ), supported by the flagship Lucky DJX Jeans industrial complex.
Developed under the oversight of the Export Processing Zones Authority, the project features four fully completed industrial warehouses, each providing approximately 32,000 square metres of modern manufacturing space designed to support large-scale production and global trade.
The facility features a solar manufacturing company focused on green technology solutions and a state-of-the-art textile enterprise specializing in high-volume denim and apparel production.
Specialized machinery is currently being installed ahead of the facility's launch, while an integrated industrial washing plant will support the treatment, finishing and preparation of garments for export markets.
The development reinforces Konza's vision as a plug-and-play industrial destination within Kenya's Silicon Savannah.
The project is also set to become a major employment catalyst, with ongoing recruitment expected to create between 15,000 and 20,000 direct jobs once all production lines are fully operational.
Through coordinated security, administrative oversight, investor facilitation and maintenance of a stable operating environment, the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration plays a critical role in supporting the smooth functioning of the EPZ, strengthening investor confidence, safeguarding industrial assets and enabling sustained job creation and economic growth. Held talks with South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile at the conclusion of my two-day State Visit to South Africa.
We are committed to elevating the already strong relations between our two nations for the mutual benefit of our countries and peoples. We are determined to translating each commitment and agreement into concrete results.
Kenya-South Africa trade ties are strong and growing, but much still needs to be done and many opportunities and potential remain unlocked.
The agreements we signed today will help us harmonise regulations and standards, foster regional and continental integration, improve infrastructure, and revitalise value chains, among other critical interventions.
South Africa is a financial and manufacturing powerhouse in the Southern Africa region while Kenya is the gateway to East and Central Africa. That complementarity represents massive opportunities for business.
We have also resolved to leverage on regional platforms like the East African Community, Southern African Development Community and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa as well as continental initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area to deliver accelerated economic growth.
Alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa, addressed the Kenya-South Africa Joint Business Forum in Midrand, Johannesburg. Encouraged by the readiness of many companies to expand across borders.
Today, alongside H.E. President William Ruto, we were accorded a State Welcome Ceremony by H.E. President Cyril Ramaphosa and First Lady Tshepo Motsepe at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, as Kenya and South Africa reaffirm their enduring friendship and shared vision for Africa's progress.
Mama Rachel Ruto and I arrived in Pretoria for a two-day State Visit to South Africa.
Kenya and South Africa have had close ties for more than 30 years. That bond has grown into a strategic partnership anchored
on trade and investment, pharmaceuticals and vaccine development and a shared belief in Africa's massive potential.
South Africa's thriving economy, particularly the manufacturing sector, is a strong pointer to Africa's immense industrial potential.
Our trade ties continue to flourish, highlighted by the many South African companies that have invested in Kenya, creating jobs and making an important contribution to our economic growth.
We take pride in this robust partnership and are committed to consolidating these valuable gains as we explore more avenues to advance our trade and people-to-people connections.
🚨 Ronaldo Nazário (R9) on who is better: himself or Cristiano Ronaldo:
"People often compare us because we are both named Ronaldo, but our careers were very different.
I won the World Cup, and that is something nobody can take away from me. But football greatness is not decided by one tournament alone. It is measured by the impact you leave on the game."
"When Cristiano started his career, Portugal was not considered one of football's traditional superpowers like Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, or Spain. Those countries had generations of world-class players and a long history of winning major trophies."
"Cristiano changed that. He became the face of Portuguese football and led his country to trophies that many people never believed Portugal could win. An entire generation of Portuguese players grew up inspired by him and dreamed of playing at the highest level in Europe because of what he achieved."
"At my best, I believe I had abilities that very few players in history possessed. But Cristiano's longevity, discipline, mentality, and achievements over more than twenty years are extraordinary."
Manager: We need to suspend Alex immediately.
HR: That’s serious. What happened?
Manager: He keeps coming to work dressed casually despite multiple warnings.
HR: Casually how?
Manager: Jeans. Open shoes. No formal office wear.
HR: Okay. How’s his performance?
Manager: Very good.
HR: Meeting deadlines?
Manager: Yes.
HR: Any quality concerns?
Manager: None.
HR: Any client complaints?
Manager: No.
HR: So what exactly is the issue?
Manager: He refuses to follow the dress code.
HR: What does he say when you raise it?
Manager: He says, “As long as I complete all my assigned tasks perfectly, I don’t think anyone should be concerned about my dress code.”
HR: And does he complete all his assigned tasks perfectly?
Manager: Yes… but that’s not the point.
HR: Then what is the point?
Manager: Standards. If we allow this once, others will start doing it too.
HR: So you want to suspend one of your top-performing employees over jeans?
Manager: Yes. Two weeks.
Two weeks later…
