Honored and inspired.
Yesterday I visited Maysville Public Schools. I was greeted with high-fives, handshakes, and so much kindness.
I met Mandee Anderson, a veteran and reading interventionist who continues to serve with heart and purpose.
Grateful this #VeteransDay. 🇺🇸
The foundation for progress is people
From classrooms to coffee shops, I’ve met hundreds of Oklahomans passionate about helping kids excel. Every conversation builds hope for what we can accomplish together.
If you’re not taking care of the students, take care of someone who is
There’s been a lot of attention on big items this week, but most of the real work is happening quietly behind the scenes -listening, and planning.
A visit to Central Tech
reminded me why this work matters.
If you’re not taking care of the students, take care of someone who is
Honored to recognize the
OK State Department of Education’s Employee of the Month, Dana Bennett.
Her dedication and commitment to service make a difference every day for Oklahoma’s students and educators.
If you’re not taking care of the students, take care of someone who is.
Three weeks in - encouraged and inspired.
Over the last week, I’ve met with more than 400 school leaders across Oklahoma -listening, learning, and talking about how we can improve outcomes for every child.
“If you’re not taking care of the students, take care of someone who is”
Two weeks in. Listening, learning, and getting to work.
Every decision comes back to one question: What’s best for kids, and how do we support the teachers who make it happen?
@lindelfields Howdy Supt. Fields! Many folks I know who know you say you’re the real deal, & I’m loving the things you’re doing, so far. A quick reminder that we all want kids to learn to read & there’s no miracle; just investments & understanding that kids are more than a test score. 😊
Until 3rd grade kids learn to read. After that, they’re reading to learn. Early childhood literacy is essential! Mississippi turned this around and Oklahoma can too. Let’s get it done! @GovStitt@lindelfields@hamlind1@senatorpaxton
The opportunity to lead @tricountytech for the last 12 years has been the honor of a lifetime. I will be forever grateful to the educators & board for their support and friendships. Leigh Ann & I excited to see what the future holds. https://t.co/40NbLijpHH
Despite the many, many challenges that were thrown their way, 100% of the students in @tricountytech’s 2020 nursing program were pinned!
23 students will soon be filling a critical need in healthcare. I couldn’t be more proud. #ChangingLives#skillsgap#inthistogether
I’m speechless! @tricountytech’s employees (89 strong) just donated $74,600 to the Tri County Tech Foundation. Over the last 5 years, 100% of our employees have donated over $350,000 to support our students. #changinglives#generous#oklaed#HigherEducation
@SecretaryRoss this is exactly what our economy needs. Unemployment is not a sustainable economic solution. @tricountytech stands ready to help prepare a well-trained workforce through our #skillstorebuild initiative. #skillsgap
More than 440 companies have signed the #PledgetoAmericanWorkers to create 16.4 million new opportunities for American workers through training & apprenticeships. This is a remarkable achievement; I encourage even more companies to sign the Pledge https://t.co/2G3FW8rGoJ
We also chat with @lindelfields to hear how they navigated the shutdown and reopening and what it means for the future of #TechEducation.
