The Seal whitepaper is out 🔐
Seal introduces programmable access control for encrypted data using Sui-based access policies.
Define who can decrypt, when, and under what conditions using Move smart contracts.

Seal is now live on Sui Mainnet!
Web3 finally has a native way to handle data privacy and access control.
Define who can access your data and when.
Encrypt it.
Enforce it onchain.
Seal + @WalrusProtocol unlock the secure data layer Web3 has been missing.
Let’s dive in 👇
🧱 Bring your TEEs to Sui. Introducing Nautilus.
Confidential computing is here — and it’s fully verifiable.
Build hybrid Web3 apps that are fast, private, and decentralized.
Now live on Testnet.
Quantum computers could, theoretically, one day crack traditional blockchain cryptography.
🔐 But Sui was built different — with cryptographic agility baked in on day one. Post-quantum transition strategies are in place, and Sui is ready.

Web3 needs better data security 😤
Seal, a decentralized secrets management (DSM) service, is now live on Sui Testnet!
Think of it as onchain access control + threshold encryption for sensitive data.
Let’s break it down 🧵
A couple of years ago, @morten2bach wrote "Christmas Bells Are Ringing (Just for You)". A tribute to christmas songs that also happens to be the 3rd best christmas song ever written: https://t.co/BEDwNMIpc5. Merry christmas!
Marigold Bachman Blackout (MBB) has released a new album (the first under this name).
The songs are composed by @morten2bach, brass and backup vocals by @THKrag and I play the Hammond organ.

Ever wondered how polynomial division could be made more efficient?
A new approach just might have cracked it.
Here’s what a group of researchers discovered and why it matters: 🧵
Plz welcome L'Hôpital's rule (a 17th century innovation) for faster FFT-based polynomial division!
Most people don't believe what we learn in school has real-world applications, but we've found an elegant way to use a 330 year-old formula to speed up polynomial division in Zero-Knowledge Proofs, Accumulators (mainly open_all) and many other crypto protocols.
The innovation lies in efficiently handling 0/0 cases in polynomial division, resulting in exciting speed records. Huge thanks to @Mysten_Labs, @IBMResearch, @SuiNetwork and @NCState researchers!

@dfaranha@kostascrypto@SuiNetwork@Mysten_Labs Thanks! No, but I’m pretty sure GMP will be faster. Both because the underlying integer arithmetic is a lot faster, but also because they use a variant of Lehmer’s algorithm which should be faster. Combining our idea with their implementation could be interesting though.
🎉Today marks the anniversary of Sui’s Mainnet launch!🎉
As Sui turns one, we reflect on the past year of stellar growth and unstoppable innovation.

Excited for one more @SuiNetwork contribution to faster crypto, applicable to Zero Knowledge Proof verifiers over BN254 curve: 2x faster point in the curve (G2 group) checks in Arkworks. Based on the AfricaCrypt 22 paper https://t.co/bTMYLIColo
🙏 @lindstrom_dk & @zkproofs
Another interesting reason @SuiNetwork is so fast & robust is its super performant #cryptography library, now used by many projects even outside #blockchain.
Fastcrypto's security, world-record speeds & continuous benchmarking efforts make a difference!

New WIP scheme: probably the first practical hash function (record speed - 500x faster than literature) for Imaginary Class Group based VDFs (Verifiable Delay Functions) with applications to random beacons, leader election, proofs of replication.

A paper I've written with some former colleagues at the @AlexandraInst has been accepted at ACNS '24. It presents a new algorithm to greatly speed up secure computation with decimal numbers and has use-cases in privacy-preserving machine learning.
