Destiny 2 got a lot of flak over the years,
But it truly provided some of the best gaming experiences of the past decade.
And I'm so glad this is the game I got addicted to 🥲
@th3jmanx@Lucid_TW I feel like they envisioned fights happening in control but didn’t realize how inoptimal fighting there is and that the meta strat is to gank a team in a hallway after getting sec 2.

Ah yes, tell me more about how the mainstream media is “far left.”
Today is Destiny 2’s finale update…
For those wondering why a political org has been discussing it we offer two reasons.
1. Everything is politics: So long as our economic systems provide only a for-profit mechanism for developers to create art, such belies the fate of all games we grow to care for.
2. We have modeled much of our community approach off Bungie. Destiny 2 has been something we have cared a lot about, we even at one point explored doing an Initiative to partner with laidoff developers to try and unionize Bungie. We want to take today to officially say,
Thank you to Bungie, the incredible developers, and the community and creators more broadly that together inspired us time and time again. We hope this isn’t the end of Destiny 2.
Here is a small list of some of the people who we want to give an even special-er thank you to for directly inspiring some of the way we do things…

Hard to think of a greater honor than to be considered The Economist‘s intellectual enemy #1.
My work is “intellectual ballast” for the largest number of Americans since 1975 wanting government to “improve the standard of living” of the poor, cut their costs, raise their incomes and stop AI from wrecking society, they say. Dream of an endorsement. Thank you @TheEconomist!
@MacticsG1@Searcy306 I think it could have worked if marathon had actually launched in 2024 like it was supposed to. The 2023 trailer has like 20 million views and that now deleted vidoc was super hype. People were super excited about marathon until that April alpha and the art scandal.
I don't think enough of us jews have confronted the reality that israel should be dismantled andd have its entire political, military, media leadership executed and its remaining populace placed in years-long rehabilitation until they're fit to transition into normal society
For whomever hasn’t tried marathon yet, there is a fully open play week starting 6/2. Not only that but your progress will carry over if you end buying the game.
I’m not asking you to devote all your time to it, but at least give it a shot if you haven’t already!
"I want Marathon to fail so that Bungie will focus on Destiny."
This is a statement I can empathize with a bit as it's generally how I felt about Respawn with Apex & Titanfall. It's rooted in the fact that the developer behind your favorite game decided they want to make something else now and you don't like it!
Let's go down this path a little bit further though and consider the most probable outcome based on prior behavior if Marathon truly does fail.
When a Sony owned studio releases a game that is a commercial failure or they fail to pitch ideas Sony is interested in, they get shut down. They do not get increased funding or more tries with other ideas. We've already seen this twice in 2026 with Bluepoint & Dark Outlaw. In fact, over the past 14 years Sony has shut down 13 studios. There is little reason to believe Bungie would be treated any differently. So when Sony tells you who they are, listen.
If you truly want Bungie to even have a chance at making Destiny 3 we need to start with the entire studio not being liquidated by the end of the year.
Not liking Marathon is fine, it's a very different game! Rooting for its failure though? That's like stabbing your favorite author in the hand and then wondering why they never got to a sequel for your favorite book they wrote years ago.
