The GOP's giddy about Darializa Avila Chevalierin's win, seeing it as an opening to paint Dems in general as too extreme pre-midterms.
Mamdani adviser Andrew Epstein calls bull. "They are the extremists," he said, citing the Iran war and the economy. https://t.co/qI0CKSSqzt
@UurMomma@MichaelLangeNYC Disgusting and vile! I hope you don’t pass ur kids this attitude. @ReElectNydia was the original progressive fighting long before there was a movement. And she did it by respecting local residents and finding common ground with different communities.
What happened with Poetica Coffee this weekend does not reflect the New York City I know and love. We’re better than that.
In difficult times like these, we must come together and fight for the future we all deserve.
Five months ago, Allan Dabrio Marrero was detained by ICE during a routine green card interview and transferred across multiple states.
Today, through the assistance of my office’s triage center, we welcomed him back home.
Allan’s story is a reminder that our immigration system is being weaponized against those simply trying to follow the rules. I will continue to use every tool in Congress to fight back and push for true accountability and reform.
There are millions of visa overstays. Federal Immigration enforcement capacity, on the other hand, is limited. By going after low hanging apples like Rafael Rubio, the Feds are wasting resources that should be used for going after criminals who pose real threat to society. Lots of resources wasted, nobody is made safer.
At this important moment of celebration in our AAPI community across New York, it was truly wonderful to join the Brooklyn Chinese Association’s Luncheon celebration for seniors and ring in the Lunar New Year. Happy Year of the Fire Horse!
Good call for making today a true snow day, AND good call to reopen schools tomorrow for in-person learning. @NYCMayor@DOEChancellor This is NYC and we're getting back to business, and school!

@Karlin_C@NYCMayor@ZohranKMamdani We don’t vote enough in the primary. Many of our community folks don’t understand the importance of primary and only come out for the general.
Thanks to Better Brooklyn Association for having me at their Lunar New Year event. I’m always proud to serve the great Chinese American community in NY-10!
NYC’s economy is strong and revenues are up, but we can’t ignore the warning signs. Job growth has stalled outside of home healthcare aides and social services. We need action now to retain talent, connect people to good-paying jobs, and build an economy that grows for everyone.
I was proud to join Better Chinatown for their Lunar New Year Firecracker Festival. It is my profound honor to represent Chinatown in Congress and a great joy to celebrate this holiday with my friends and neighbors there.
I hope the Year of the Horse brings everyone hope, optimism and growth!
Exactly, we need to talk about reform before any increase. Working class home owners of modest houses, condos and coops are already bearing disproportionate property tax burden.
Property taxes are already inequitable. Raising them doubles down on the damage.
Families who fought to buy a home deserve reform, not higher bills.
No way. No how. No property tax hike.
As a member of the Council’s budget negotiating team in 2020 during the pandemic, I’m sharing a reminder that we faced a painful $9 billion budget deficit in FY21 and we were able to close the gap without raising property taxes and without layoffs of city workers—-while we also successfully fought back proposed fair student funding cuts.
Albany certainly has more tools in the tool box which should be explored to help NYC, but I echo the important flag shared by my former colleague and now @NYCComptroller Mark Levine.
新年快樂! 🐴🔴 Happy Lunar New Year, New York!
Our AAPI community is always top of mind for me and my staff. So meaningful to kick off the start of Lunar New Year together in Chinatown. Wishing everyone prosperity and joy as we enter the Year of the Fire Horse.
Stadiums get multi-million dollar tax breaks, then jack up the price of concessions.
Everyone should be able to afford food at a game.
That’s why I introduced the HOTDOG Act — directing the FTC to study concession pricing at sports venues.
Hear what @BrooklynNets fans think!
