I’ve only been able to pick out the words すごい, 仕事, 頑張ってん and まじで from Terrace House in about 39 episodes but I feel like I could half of the conversations I could ever want or need in there tbh so I’m happy with that

@GrammarTable Although I’ve also read somewhere that if you don’t pronounce the genitive ‘s’ then you don’t write it (which makes sense for plurals), but I can’t think of an example of a singular noun like that off the top of my head

@GrammarTable It’s a singular noun ending in ‘s’, so it’s ‘virus’s’. If it’s a plural noun ending in ‘s’ it doesn’t take an extra ‘s’ (eg. the crises’ impact). Source is having a name that ends in ‘s’ and so had to consult long ago to find out what I should tell everyone else who asks me 😅

I’m just learning fusha at the moment because it’s what’s mostly available, but I of course want to be able to understand more dialectal things as well, particularly around the Levant region? If you know any good resources, that would be awesome! 🙏🏻

Maybe I’m just not looking in the right places, but good resources for Arabic are so hard to find, particularly for dialects. Recommendation lists seem to deal with the alphabet and maybe some grammar, while my textbook thought it good to teach ‘investigation’ before ‘lunch’ 😪
