My colleague and friend Michael Waters at #CDRH#FDA, a microbiologist, passed away unexpectedly. His SHIELD project on establishing clinical #laboratorydata#interoperability is evolutionary. His work impacts the whole nation. https://t.co/Mfio6KaCsJ
@ArtsyTwits Results: "In the ITT population, the time to clinical improvement in the remdesivir group was not significantly different to that of the control group (median 21·0 days [IQR 13·0–28·0] in the remdesivir group vs 23·0 days [15·0–28·0]; HR 1·23 [95% CI 0·87–1·75]"
@ArtsyTwits The Table 2 "Treatments received before and after enrolment" is interesting to look: Non-invasive mechanical ventilation is 9%(14/158) in treatment group and 4%(3/78) in placebo; Invasive mechanical ventilation is 7%(11/158) in treatment and 13% (10/78) in placebo.
@ArtsyTwits Agree! If read paper carefully, the study is a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. 158 in treatment group vs.78 in placebo group.
FDA postdoc fellow opportunities. FDA is looking for two candidates: 1. text mining related drug toxicity prediction; 2. liver toxicity prediction using ontology based approach. Please contact me if interested.
