Am încheiat două zile de activitate intensă și discuții strategice la Consiliul European de la Bruxelles.

Printre principalele concluzii, o veste foarte importantă, care ne bucură foarte mult, este recunoașterea începerii formale a procesului de aderare a Republicii Moldova la Uniunea Europeană, alături de Ucraina.

Am avut, de asemenea, o discuție amplă pe viitorul cadru financiar multianual, adică bugetul UE pe șapte ani, începând cu 2028. România a coordonat grupul de 16 state ”Prieteni ai coeziunii” pentru a ajunge la o poziție comună de negociere pe elemente relevante pentru noi.

Mizele noastre sunt clare și vizează două capitole importante - Politica Agricolă Comună, Coeziune și Afaceri Interne și Competitivitatea. Interesul nostru major este ca primul capitol să aibă un volum financiar cât mai mare, esențial pentru a repara decalajele de dezvoltare față de statele din vest. Cerem mai multă flexibilitate pentru statele membre în gestionarea fondurilor de coeziune și agricultură, perioade mai lungi de accesare a fondurilor europene și o libertate mai mare pentru fiecare țară în definirea programelor naționale.

La Competitivitate, în urma negocierilor coordonate de România, am reușit să introducem principiul inclusivității în regulamentul acestui capitol, astfel încât banii europeni pentru competitivitate să ajungă în mod real și la companiile și grupurile de cercetători din țara noastră.

I had a very good meeting today with the German Foreign Minister, @AussenMinDE Wadephul, on the occasion of the 5th Kiel Security Conference.

Our discussions reaffirmed the strength and strategic nature of 🇷🇴-🇩🇪 relations, all the more significant in the current geopolitical context:

✅ Romania has a particular interest in strengthening and diversifying the extensive cooperation in the field of security with Germany 🇩🇪, including in the Black Sea region.

We discussed the joint 🇷🇴-🇧🇬 concept for the Black Sea Security Maritime Hub, to enhance awareness, information exchange, and resilience against hybrid threats, a flagship project of the EU Strategic Approach.

✅ I welcomed yesterday's European Council conclusions on European defense and security, which reflected full solidarity with Romania, affected by repeated violations of its airspace and drone incidents. We agreed to strengthen protection against these threats as a common priority.

✅ I also highlighted the positive impact of growing bilateral economic exchanges, which exceed 42 billion EUR annually, and discussed ways to continue promoting mutual investments. The action plan signed last July has unlocked significant potential.

✅ We shared our countries' perspectives on the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

✅ An important point is the vital role of the Romanian community in Germany and the German minority in Romania, whose contributions continue to represent important bridges that will further strengthen our bilateral relations.
