@DanielPriestley So the 50+ businesses I generated millions in MRR for because the founders (although great at what they WERE good at, were trash at lead gen, GTM strategy, biz dev, product, building sales teams, etc were just a figment of my imagination?
lol
Engagement is kind of a silly metric to prioritize on LinkedIn
Most of your deals will come from a very small subset of the people who engage with your content
The thing that matters is how many qualified people engage, not overall engagement
10 comments from ICP > 100 NPCs
@evanseech “Don’t use the channel that gives you highest and most reliable speed to market that practically every business vertical has used successfully for like 20 years” lmao
Cold email can’t be used like LinkedIn
It’s not a networking tool, really
If you try to use it socially it CAN work, but more often it’s like why tf is this person emailing me
They have no context on you, and you have to earn inbox placement
LinkedIn just lends itself to growing your network, it’s literally what the platform was designed for
Which makes it great for long sales cycle products/services that require trust and don’t have a super compelling cold traffic offer
@salesxsaas Idk I like it cause it makes it convenient to inspect the thing visually and see what’s happening under the hood. And pricing isn’t bad at all.
I think for production workflows running at scale it’s probably better to just use code or something a bit more enterprise grade but 🤷
@roguewealth I suppose
Though I could post everything I know about LinkedIn and I will still win because I was the one who shared the alpha
And the others were merely imitating
While they make a slop copy I’m already on to the next thing
Unfortunately so little alpha on X because most content is made for beginners
Feels like the farther you get in the game the fewer profiles make content that’s relevant for you
You need a scoreboard of the inputs that move your business
It sounds basic but practically nobody lives and dies by that scoreboard
You need to be looking at it every single day
Emails sent
Posts
Dials
Ad creative published
Follow ups
LinkedIn DMs
The win metrics are fine
But inputs are what determine them
And tracking them forces transparency that we’re doing the right shit to move the needle
Yeah largely, though they dont really work lol, but for some reason people still use them
As far as I can tell only time they work is if the activity emulates genuine feed engagement, e.g, someone in relevant niche shares from feed and all their followers actually read it and engage
But the commercial out of the box solutions you can buy only give fake impressions that don’t actually juice genuine reach
This is facts. Off the dome to X. Treat LinkedIn like you’re making a YouTube vid
Every line dissected, hook on point, slippery slope copy, clearly written for ICP, lot of value or emotional resonance, etc
You need to hit an engagement threshold on LinkedIn for any reach
Couple little things when it comes to Twitter VS LinkedIn after making the mistake of treating them both the same
There are three things I've noticed that work really well on Twitter that don't work well on LinkedIn
1. Posting a ton.
2. Posting off-the-cuff, whatever the hell comes to mind
3. And complimentary to this, quote retweeting a lot, including your own stuff.
Often times I'll make a post and quote-retweet the same post and the quote-retweet of the same post with a little bit of added context does better than the post itself
Quote retweets also let you borrow authority around the topic
Meanwhile LinkedIn benefits from meticulously put together and engineered lead magnets and kind of operates more like YouTube
You really need to get the packaging right so much so that the actual core content is less important.
That is all
Unfortunately most fancy AI workflows in GTM are still LARPing revenue generation
Most signals are useless
The signals that seem actually useful are
Job posting pain point mining
Job changes
Mergers/acquisitions
Post engagement
10-K filings
Passion posts -tricky to use tho
Maturing in biz is realizing that time in the game beats everything else
So many guys who’d say to my face that they’re dumber than me, making $500K a month when I’ve never taken home close to that
And it’s because I decided to go side questing or pivot while they locked in
