Happy 25th birthday @CounterStrike ! My first esport at university aww ☺️ Wish I had more photos but my HDD at the time went bye bye 😭 I'll always remember the hilarious times spent playing with friends thanks to CS. I think that's why I love HE esports! Here's to 25 more yrs!👍
Regular ELO resets are a good thing and encourage players to remain active.
That you hit 3k 4 years ago is not relevant today. Nor was it relevant 3 years ago. Or 2.
You want kudos? Keep playing.
Hey all, apologies for the queues being down. S8 demand has been genuinely unprecedented - we're seeing 360,000 requests per minute and every record of the platform has been blown away. Thank you for your patience, and honestly, for showing up like this. We'll update you asap 🫶
I know this post is mostly jest. But I see so many new players thinking that X hours of aim trainers will help them.
It will not.
Just play the damn game and learn how to work through scenarios first.
A positioning advantage beats an aim advantage in most cases.
'people who were X rank in GO are now Y rank in CS2'
Don't know why we think people stay the same rank forever
You're grinding, you're improving, so is everyone else
Has anyone noticed in S4 premier that the average skill level has gone down significantly? I don't know if it's the same at other ranks, but I've seen people who were 15k in S2-S3 are now red in S4...
What's so strange about Valve's insistence on keeping the comfort picks of Mirage and to a lesser extent Dust2 and Inferno is they've shown previously with the AUG/SG buffs that they're willing to incentivise players to try something different.
Valve must just love Mirage.
For anyone who doesn't know, this has always existed it's just called spread instead of bloom.
You can turn it off with a console command to more accurately track your spray control.
Unfortunately low filtering can also create its own visual clutter as you strafe and walls appear to shimmer and change texture before your eyes, where higher filtering does not.
Personally I prefer the consistency of image that higher provides, but both have pros and cons.
because pros, intuitively, understand that anisotropic filtering means adding unnecessary visual clutter and making it harder to spot enemies when they are close to detailed walls/floors at an angle
it's not because "pros don't know any better lmao placebo"
Season Three of Premier ends on January 19th.
You must have 25 Season Three Premier wins and a visible CSR when the Season concludes to earn your Premier Season Three medal.
For Season Four:
- Train
+ Anubis
Fascinated to learn what -Mirage would do to the player base.
It could be the final straw for the ruby-lensed GO nostalgists who actually just yearn to be a responsibility-free teen again.
In 2025, 49.33M competitive matches were played on FACEIT.
Mirage remains the most selected map with a pick-rate of 30.93%, followed by Dust2 and Ancient. Together, the these three maps account for over 67% of all matches.
