@benz145 @otiteb One of the cool properties of cryptographic hash algorithms is that they flips on average roughly half the bits if you change just a single bit of the input. That is, just a single bit flip will make the hash completely different.

@benz145 @otiteb Now, md5 in particular is known to be somewhat weak, since there exists a proven way to create a collision with significant effort, so if the security of a system depends on a hash, you should use something different (sha256 perhaps)

@ID_AA_Carmack There might have been earlier instances of XR, but I don't recall it at the time. Would be fun to know the full history of the term!

At the time people were mainly using AR and VR, but MR was also used for a video capture style. So XR felt inclusive :)

@ID_AA_Carmack When OpenXR was named, there was a long discussion on the term, and X was picked as placeholder variable as in "whatever reality". It was also mentioned that it's a V stacked on an A.

First time I heard eXtended Reality was a few years later in a Qualcomm press release.

@OzzaneGames @JayHadHope On PSVR2 specifically it might help to turn the brightness all the way down; it reduces the persistence of the display, effectively giving you less head-turning-motion-blur which is known to cause discomfort for some people (myself included)

@Clickster15 Titans of Space was the first thing I tried on my DK1. It was a surreal experience! Also remember strapping a razer hydra to my chest for a 6DOF experience of some cover shooter game

They have recently switched to fully electric ferries, with a massive charging contraption they connect to every time the unload passengers.

@jayforeman Grew up at Nesodden, a peninsula outside Oslo, where about half the population commutes by ferry to Oslo. For rule #1 there's two destinations people commute to.

Every bus is either going to or from a ferry, so the ferry schedule pulses through the community.
