President John Mahama has justified government’s decision to reject a health compact from the United States, describing the terms as humiliating.
The United States offered some $100 million to Ghana to support its health needs through a compact that reportedly required access to the health records of Ghanaians in exchange.
A demand the President flatly rejected, with full Cabinet backing.
Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations engagement, a side event of the UN General Assembly, the President said Ghana will not be a dumping ground under his watch.

“The Costa Rica movie I did in 2011 is currently doing about 350 million views on Tiktok. It's been in the news in Costa Rica, and its government has spoken about the movie.👏 That movie was the first movie I starred in with heavyweight comedic actors in person of Mr Ibu and Nkem Owoh.”

Danquah was on the CIA payroll!👇
Following his release from detention in June 1962, J.B. Danquah visited the U.S. Embassy to inquire why the CIA FINANCIAL SUPPORT provided to his family during his imprisonment had STOPPED.
U.S. Ambassador William Mahoney, unaware of the arrangement, confronted the CIA station chief and subsequently flew to Washington to report the matter directly to President John F. Kennedy.
President Kennedy then instructed CIA Director John McCone to handle the matter and re-established that CIA operations in Ghana must be carried out with the ambassador's knowledge.
No matter how much you lie to yourself and try to pretend like "Big Six" is a thing, you know it is not true, and it will NEVER be a thing.
There is only one Kwame Nkrumah and nobody else in the entire history of West Africa has been more influential.
He is arguably the most important *African* to have existed in the entire 20th century, right up there with Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X and Haile Selassie.
None of your miserable CIA-collaborator ancestors will ever be fit to breathe Kwame Nkrumah's air.
Nobody should attempt to smuggle any name beside Kwame Nkrumah’s into the Founder’s Day conversation.
You cannot claim equal credit for fighting colonialism when you sat comfortably with the coloniser, breaking bread, drinking wine and conducting business under the cover of darkness, only to emerge in daylight pretending to oppose the same system.
Independence was not won through secret dinners, convenient alliances or political theatre. Nkrumah mobilised the masses, faced imprisonment and led the decisive struggle that delivered independence.
Many contributed to Ghana’s history, but Ghana has one Founder: Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. History must not be rewritten to satisfy partisan interests.
