@JeremyVineOn5 I think people do. Many people on benefits are on them because it's easier than work. I work so does my husband, we used to be on tax credits moved onto UC by the end of legacy benefits. We now get nothing, while people on UC who don't work get better money than we do working !

@MartinSLewis will you be looking at the people who are being moved from Tax credits to UC? We are about to lose a lot of money because we don't qualify for UC. There must be more people out there that are now not going to be able to claim?? 😭

@MartinSLewis @bbc5live This is what I have received from BG. They say I can save money but the standing charge is 30p more than what I pay now but yet I can save money? They also said I can change after the price cap drops?? I don't understand how I can save money with higher standing charges? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am disabled and work and can't claim under UC and my husband works, but got small tax credits to help top up my wage because I am not able to manage full time. Scrapping tax credits will push more people into poverty.

I don't think Andrew is innocent however I do think the women are trying to make as much money out of this as possible. There have been historical cases that have resulted in prosecution. Lower inflation is welcome, but there's one thing not being said about today's 4.6% Oct figure:

The big drop in energy prices is being credited. Yet this time last year all homes got a £66/mth reduction from govt. They don't this year. That's excluded from inflation figures. In practical terms then, what home's typically pay for energy has hardly dropped, so the gain households feel won't really materialise.
