With all the SOR research and evidence it’s so surprising that Reading Recovery and THRASS are still so widely used without evidence of success. Congrats to you for using a proven method to help them.

@misshyear5 @MrTs_NQTs One of my favourite activities is wrapping whichever book you choose in brown paper. In an envelope have key vocab from first chapter you discuss / unpack first and they try to predict which book it is. They are instantly engaged to unwrap and seek out the vocab in the book.

@NathanielRSwain I haven’t seen it yet but the preview made me nervous when it said “you have gone up an entire level of reading” ahhh level? Whaat?
I am hoping the first episode would show me some pre-assessments (valid, not shopping list dictation) and then the plans to address areas of need?
