I just returned a vehicle to Budget Rental Cars in Hobart, and I had a plastic drink bottle to recycle. The clerk at the counter said “just put it into the bin” and pointed to the rubbish bin. #notgoodenough@Budget
@_melissamackay What a fun interview, @MelissaMackay, thanks for that! And thanks for this post, I mean, who doesn’t love a stingless blob that’s taking over the ocean?! ‘Tis the season to be Jelly!! 🥰🪼
@bairdjulia@smh@theage What an extraordinarily good post, @bairdjulia , so well said! As a wise judge once said, after clearing her name, she came back for her hat 😉! And congrats on being Top Three Most Viewed in the Sydney Morning Herald! Woo-hoo!

@MonteBovill Hey Monte, happy birthday! That is sooooo cool! I would love to get one made (with jellyfish, of course!) — can I talk you into flicking me the contact details or webpage for where your friends got it? Many thanks!!! By email would be groovy if it’s not too much trouble for you?
Here you go Phillip, just for you...
The Rhyme of the Ancient Broadcaster...
In days of old, when airwaves reigned,
A broadcaster's voice, so grandly trained.
With microphone in hand, they'd stand,
To captivate listeners across the land.
Their words flowed with rhythmic grace,
A melodic cadence, a dulcet embrace.
From crackling radios, the stories unfurled,
In the hearts of the listeners, they would twirl.
Through war and peace, their voices soared,
Narrating triumphs, battles, and more.
They painted pictures with vivid might,
Guiding imaginations day and night.
From news reports to tales of yore,
The ancient broadcaster, a storyteller at the core.
Their voice a beacon in the darkest night,
Guiding lost souls towards the light.
With wisdom and charisma, they would speak,
Words of truth, causing hearts to seek.
The ancient broadcaster, a trusted guide,
Their message echoing far and wide.
Though time has passed, their legacy remains,
In the annals of history, their imprint ingrains.
The rhyme of the ancient broadcaster, ever true,
A timeless reminder of the power they once knew.
@BatemanDan Oh gosh Dan, that’s insane! Last time I was in a flood like that (in the Whitsundays) my body somehow seemed like the right place for hundreds of spiders to take refuge. My advice: don’t wade in or near flood water. 😱 Be safe dude!
@annbag2 Oh yes, that thunder and lightning last night was sounding and looking fairly cataclysmic. And it carried quite a lot of rain in a really short period of time. Nature can be quite mighty!
@fergusonjw enjoying your reporting on the #toxicmushroom fiasco. This morning you reported that the survivor Ian is not on the donor list so it may signal optimism. I wonder whether it may also signal that he’s beyond the age cutoff for donors?
@JavalinaNuevo @ABCthedrum@bairdjulia 2/2 My book Stung! On Jellyfish Blooms and the Future of the Ocean lays this phenomenon out really well with tons of evidence — you can get this book at a library or Amazon or just about anywhere. Not trying to sell you a book, just trying to say there’s a lot of evidence

@JavalinaNuevo @ABCthedrum@bairdjulia Haha, sorry JN, the limits of time! Jellyfish bloom naturally but the superabundances that we too often see in disturbed areas are a visible indicator that something is out of balance, and these superblooms often drive further damage. 1/2
