@jkirk___ I used a pocket chart with numbers (each student assigned a number) with a power strip for optional charging. If students felt they were going to be tempted to use their phone, they put it in the chart. Students that chose to keep their phones agreed to keep it away all of class

This semester I’m teaching a grad seminar called Introduction to Black German Studies. It feels good to walk into the campus bookstore and see all of these books by Black German authors for sale. Because part of activism is making sure people get paid.

@CaleZuiker @SarahSajohnson I have students that I teach remotely( even before COVID). When they wear a hat it is hard to see their faces on screen. I ask that they don’t wear hats/hoodies up. When you take the time to explain why and do it in a non threatening way students will respond positively.
