@1in5advocacy I am happy to report that Mika is graduating high school in just 3 years (get it over ASAP as real learning happens outside the limits of HS) with a 97 GPA and her dream Ivy is recruiting her. Find the right style for each learner. For us, it was Davis Dyslexia.

Anyone who says “diagnosed with dyslexia” and/or refers to dyslexia as “a problem” is part of the problem. We need to RECOGNIZE those with dyslexia and figure out each dyslexics unique learning style and customize the way we teach them. Dyslexic learners are brilliant…

And Mika is now 16yrs old and finishing high school in just 3 yrs and has a 97 GPA. She is being recruited by a top 5 school. Teach your kids that dyslexia is a gift that requires a lot more effort, which builds grit and grit is the single greatest predictor of success.

My daughter, Mika, was the 14y old girl on this panel, and we do not endorse OG or ANY other ‘method’ , bc there is no single ‘magic answer’. I am not knocking OG method, but it wasn’t the the right ‘missing puzzle piece for Mika. Davis Dyslexia method worked best for Mika.
