A few takeaways from Dr. Marwan Abusada’s (Chief of Surgery at Shifa Hospital in #Gaza) presentation.
▪️The hospital is overwhelmed. Capacity is approx 250 but they’ve seen >450 injured patients in the last 5/6 days
Dr AbuSada highlighting the need for surgical specialists to care for the victims of the bombings in Gaza.
Not that we in the #globalsurgery community should need an excuse to speak out against these attacks - but this is a reminder that this is very much in our lane.
ONGOING: We are now hearing from Dr. Marwan Abusada, chief of the surgical department at Shifa hospital in Gaza. He is telling us how shortage of basic medical equipment is increasing patient mortality.
