I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support that @MichelleObama has poured into me over the years. Her story — from her South Side roots to the White House and beyond — is a central part of the Obama Presidential Center.
AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACT… Great point made here by MP Mureri. This is the fundamental flaw with CAB3, Incumbents seeking to extend their own term of office. A gross illegality and brazen unconstitutionality. A classic case of conflict of interest, and unjust enrichment that unjustly benefits those promoting it. Even if they illegally pass it by hook or crook and without a referendum, it will be rejected by Zimbabweans. It simply cannot stand.
I stand to benefit PERSONALLY from CAB 3. By all selfish calculations, I should support it. Some have whispered, "Take the opportunity while it is there." But leadership is not measured by what benefits us; it is measured by what benefits the people. When I asked myself, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE? I found every reason to OPPOSE it.

THE WEDDING THAT REVEALS…
That ‘wedding’ guest list is not merely a list of invitees; it is a roll call of the few who continue to plunder the nation’s wealth and resources for their own benefit. The obscene display of looted wealth stinks to high heaven.
It stands in painful contrast to the widespread poverty endured by us ordinary citizens.:.seen in collapsing healthcare, a struggling education system, eroded savings and pensions, paltry salaries, and decaying infrastructure.
At a time when millions are suffering, such extravagance exposes the deep inequality and moral decay at the heart of our society.
This should serve as a wake-up call for all of us to say: enough is enough. We must stop this nonsense #CAB3 and demand a new leadership with a citizens mandate that serves the all rather than a privileged few. State capture is the worst form of treason! #WeTheCitizens
What follows is a direct quote from the government controlled @HeraldZimbabwe newspaper this morning.
The brazenness of this regime is quite astonishing.
“Dr Tagwirei gifted his son 33 hectares of land in Umwinsidale worth US$15 million and US$2,5 million in cash, while the President’s sons gave the couple US$100 000 in cash as a wedding gift.
The high-profile celebration brought together the country’s elite, drawing a stellar guest list from Government, business, sport and international entertainment circles.
Popular American R&B group Boyz II Men serenaded the guests with a live performance at the lavish wedding of Taonanyasha and Poneso after making a surprise appearance.
Their coming to Zimbabwe was a closely guarded secret.
Among the senior Government officials in attendance were the Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, Professor Mthuli Ncube; the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr George Guvamatanga; Attorney-General Mrs Virginia Mabhiza and former Finance Minister Cde Patrick Chinamasa.
Other notable political figures and Cabinet members present included Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Minister Dr Frederick Shava, ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera, and Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) chairperson Mr Michael Reza.”
CONDOLENCE MESSAGE BY H.E. PRESIDENT DR EMMERSON D.
MNANGAGWA ON THE PASSING ON OF MS LINDA TSUNGIRAI MASARIRA, 25 MAY 2026
It is with a heavy heart that I learnt of the passing on of Ms Linda Tsungirirai Masarira, the leader of the opposition Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD) Party. Her departure is a great loss to her family, to the women of Zimbabwe, and to the nation at large.
On behalf of ZANU PF, Government, the people of Zimbabwe, my family and myself, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Masarira family, relatives,
and friends. May they find strength in the
knowledge that their daughter, sister, mother and compatriot served her country with conviction and courage.
Ms Masarira was a bold and outspoken voice in Zimbabwe's political and civic space. She consistently advocated for dialogue, constitutionalism, and national unity at a time when the country needed sober voices. She was particularly fearless in defending the sovereignty of Zimbabwe. Her contributions to progressive civic engagement and to shaping a national narrative centred on unity, peace, and development. Through her work in civil society, in the media, and in political platforms such as the Political Actors Dialogue, she demonstrated that Zimbabweans of diverse political backgrounds can disagree without being enemies, and can work together for the common good.
May the legacy of Cde Masarira inspire others, especially young women, to participate actively and responsibly in the affairs of their country.
I pray and hope that the Masarira family finds solace and comfort in her great deeds and that the nation shares in their grief. May her soul rest eternal peace.
E.D. MNANGAGWA
President of the Republic of Zimbabwe
🔸In case you’re confused, this is why they’re doing #CAB3. Ivo varikukika mari nebhutsu iwe uchishaya mari yekunorapiswa asthma zvayo.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
No sane person within ZANU PF or the institutions of the state can genuinely find acceptable the level of extravagance and opulence displayed at the so called ‘wedding’ in a country bleeding from extreme poverty, collapsing public healthcare, unemployment and deep social despair. Such obscene accumulation of wealth is taking place while their own ordinary party members and the general citizenry survive on crumbs, abandoned by the very system they defend and campaign for. It’s a mess!
