@nicoraytruth In his talk “Being a Celestial Partner,” Elder Maxwell encouraged fathers to give their children priesthood blessings and to preserve a record of them. A summary of the talk notes his counsel to have “at least one recorded father’s blessing for each child.”
@N242DB@Making_of_a_Mom It doesn’t guarantee the miracle we desire. It’s not transactional, it just opens heaven to pour down the miracles God sees fit to place in our lives. Also, perfect obedience is repentant obedience. Only Christ achieved perfection in this life.
@DesertMuckraker@Making_of_a_Mom Didn’t Jesus say, “Be ye therefore perfect”? We obviously can’t obtain perfection in this life, but we can strive to be like Christ.
@MormonNational As a former bishop’s wife, I am truly grateful that God spares women from that role.
Also, aren’t the shorter lessons meant to be discussions more than lectures? I see the teacher’s responsibility lightened by these changes.
@GerryLond@KoYasEphraimite This can be any kid, homeschooled or not. If their parents don’t take the time to teach them, they’ll be feral. My kids are homeschooled, and if I heard they behaved this way at an activity, we would definitely address it.
@ProLifeisProGod Find your local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It’s worth a try! It has truly made my life more centered on Jesus Christ and provides a community of people trying their best to be like Him.
@realDrTT It doesn’t bother me when others use these terms. I just use the full name of the church when I refer to it. No need to have anyone walk on eggshells.
