@lithdash It's a legitimate list of top supercomputers. It tests a certain kind of computational capability that is relevant for scientific simulations (nuclear bombs, etc).
@DeryaTR_ Except aviation became safer mostly due to systemically investing failures, institutionalizing the fixes, and implementing appropriate regulations. Pretty much what โpacingโ is advocating.
All the regulations being floated by frontier model companies must be viewed through the lens of them losing tokens to Open-Source models.
The timing of these regulations seems to line up perfectly with Open Source closing the gap significantly (but not completely) โ and @nvidia going all in on open source in the last 60 days.
If weโre gonna regulate, why donโt we require that last yearโs frontier models and weights be open-sourced?
@AndrewPerpetua Youโre literally inventing your own definition of AI that no one else subscribes to and then calling others in the field lost. Maybe consider youโre out of your depth on this one.
