Today a student asked if I was the superintendent. When I said yes, her friend said, “see what girls can do!” Followed by another student asking me how it felt to be a woman with a “top job”. Representation matters for our students!
One of the easiest ways to celebrate someone is to compliment them! A) they might need it, and B) it’s going to make them feel good! But, most importantly, they probably need to hear it. Don’t walk around filled with love and appreciation for the people around you, and never tell them. Who has been on your mind to compliment lately? Tag them and let them know how you feel!

We are ready for our letter/sound recognition boost to begin on Monday! For 10 minutes each morning, 17 staff members will give students an extra dose of foundational skills instruction in K-3. Can’t wait to see the data after a month! 📚♥️@litlearningzone
“Principals and administrators must be learning leaders first.”
The job of admin as instructional leaders is imperative when we think about literacy & ensuring all students have the access to learn to read. 💛 📚 ✏️
The morale of teachers and staff directly influences the overall school culture. With high morale, they are more likely to be motivated, engaged, and committed to their work. This, in turn, contributes to improved collaboration, sense of community, and student success.
If you don't think morale is important, remember that a student's learning environment is created by the teacher. A teacher who is supported, valued, & appreciated will create a more positive & dynamic learning environment than a teacher who is not.
Staff feeling valued, or not, is really a reflection of leadership. It affects:
Morale & Motivation
Retention
Productivity
Teamwork
Trust & Communication
Innovation and Creativity
School Culture
Job Satisfaction
Professional Growth & Development
Student Success
