THE ROTHERHAM SCANDAL DESCENDS DEEPER INTO HELL: POLICE OFFICERS JOINED THE RAPISTS

Today's BBC revelations about serving police officers raping children in Rotherham represent the darkest chapter yet in Britain's most shameful institutional failure. But for those of us who have spent years fighting for these forgotten victims, this news confirms what we already knew: the rot went to the very core of the system designed to protect our children.

THIRTY WOMEN. THIRTY VOICES OF BETRAYAL.

Let that number burn into your consciousness. Thirty women have now testified that the very officers tasked with safeguarding them instead became their predators. These weren't rogue actors operating in shadows. These were uniformed representatives of the state, using marked police cars as mobile rape chambers, threatening vulnerable children with return to gang abuse if they didn't comply.

"You do it for the other officer. So you're gonna do it for me."

These are the words allegedly spoken by PC Hassan Ali to a child victim. This is the language of an organised criminal network masquerading as law enforcement.

THE SYSTEM PROTECTED ITSELF, NOT CHILDREN

Today's revelations expose an even more sinister truth: elements within our police forces didn't just fail these children, they actively participated in their destruction.

Consider the grotesque arithmetic of survival that these children were forced to calculate:

"I would rather be raped once, or give one man oral sex, than to be taken somewhere where I know it'd be 15... 20 guys one after another."

This is the hellish mathematics that police officers imposed on children under their protection.

WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?

Once again, we see the establishment circling the wagons. South Yorkshire Police investigating their own officers? Prof Alexis Jay herself calls this "shocking". She's right. This is not justice; this is damage limitation masquerading as due process.

The IOPC's previous Operation Linden was, in the words of former investigator Garry Harper, "an abject failure from beginning to end."

Forty-three complaints upheld, but not a single officer lost their job or faced criminal charges. The system investigated itself and found itself innocent.

THE IOPC: COMPLICIT IN THE COVER-UP

The so-called "Independent" Office for Police Conduct has already proven itself an active participant in protecting South Yorkshire Police from accountability.

Forty-three complaints upheld. Zero officers lost their jobs. Zero criminal charges. South Yorkshire Police "managed to evade almost any accountability" under @policeconduct oversight. This is not independence. This is institutional protection masquerading as oversight.

Now, with revelations that serving officers were raping the same children they were supposed to protect, the IOPC wants us to trust them to oversee @syptweet investigating itself again? This is beyond farce. It is criminal negligence in real time.

THE NCA MUST TAKE CONTROL NOW

These allegations describe organised criminal activity involving serving police officers, drug supply, and systematic child rape. This is exactly what the National Crime Agency was created to investigate. Not some cozy internal review. Not another IOPC whitewash. A proper criminal investigation by investigators with no connection to the compromised institutions of South Yorkshire.

DR ALAN BILLINGS: FIRE THE CHIEF CONSTABLE NOW

The Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire, Dr Alan Billings, has the power and the duty to dismiss the Chief Constable. After today's revelations, that power must be exercised immediately.

Under the current leadership, South Yorkshire Police has been allowed to investigate itself for crimes involving its own officers raping children. This is not just a failure of judgment, it is an active betrayal of every victim who trusted the system to deliver justice.

Dr Billings claims to be "the voice of the public" in how they wish to be policed. Well, the public does not wish to be policed by a force that protects child rapists in uniform. The public does not wish to be policed by an institution that destroys evidence and allows officers to retire rather than face justice.

If Dr Billings lacks the courage to dismiss a Chief Constable who presides over this grotesque failure of accountability, then he himself has failed in his most basic duty to the people of South Yorkshire.

WHAT JUSTICE LOOKS LIKE

Real accountability demands:

- Independent investigation by forces with no connection to South Yorkshire Police

- Criminal prosecutions where evidence supports charges, regardless of rank or retirement status

- Full disclosure of all internal communications, policies, and decisions that enabled this systematic failure

- Compensation and support for every victim failed by these institutions

- Structural reform to ensure no child ever again faces such institutional betrayal

THE RECKONING

To the thirty women who shattered their silence: you have torn down the final walls protecting this criminal conspiracy. Your testimony has exposed not just individual monsters, but a system so morally bankrupt that it turned child protection into child predation.

To the communities of Rotherham and beyond: understand what happened here. Your police force became an extension of the grooming gangs. Your protectors became your children's rapists. This is the ultimate consequence of institutional cowardice and political paralysis.

To every politician, police chief, and public official who enabled this through wilful blindness: there is nowhere left to hide. When uniform becomes costume for predators, when police cars become rape chambers, when badges become licenses for child abuse -civilisation itself breaks down.

The children of Rotherham called for help and got horror instead. They reached for protection and found predation. They trusted the system and discovered it was their enemy.

That is the truth that will outlive every cover-up, every deflection, every institutional protection racket. That is the truth that demands not just justice, but a complete reckoning with how deeply our institutions have failed the most vulnerable among us.
