I think the fool might not have anymore lines in the play because he has taught and shown King Lear so much love and care already. The fool always advised Lear and as we see how much Lear has grown, Shakespeare might have thought the fool’s lines were no longer needed. #laylit19

I think the fact that Gloucester’s eyes were pulled out is EXTREMELY grotesque and this demonstrates the lack of humanity in many of the characters especially Regan. She is pure evil and I hope she learns her lesson by the end of the play even though that’s not likely. #laylit19

@jbaileylit19 I know :( it’s kinda sad because he was a uniquely comedic and extremely intelligent at the same time. I think the fool’s absence at this time of the play demonstrates the more profound upcoming tone Shakespeare will try to portray through the seriousness of events. #laylit19

@jbaileylit19 Hamlet crazy for sure!! Hamlet’s craze was part of an intelligent act he put on and he was in control. Lear is more confused than crazy; he does not make intelligent decisions and he realizes things too late. #laylit19

@mihalehanglit I’m rooting for Lear, Cordelia, Edward, and Kent since they seem to be the characters in the play containing positive attributes while many others are evil. I’d never root for Goneril or Regan but at times I find myself reasoning with Edmund. #laylit19

The whole act Edgar is putting on of being Poor Tom who might be considered as “mad” reminds me of Hamlet partaking in similar acting. Although they might not have seemed intelligent due to it, they both had greater intents. This makes me think that Edgar might succeed. #laylit19

Through act 3 so far, we can kind of see Lear’s humanity coming out as he is thinking more about the unfortunate and considering those below him. Do you think that everything happening is helping Lear grow into a better person??? #laylit19

@litshrey I honestly like Kent the best so far due to his extreme loyalty towards King Lear and kindness towards Cordelia SO KENT FOR THE WIN!!! #laylit19

@therealvolpez I honestly feel like Edgar is a very intelligent guy!! I think he hasn’t figured things out yet because he trusts Edmund THAT much and would never ever imagine him to deceive Gloucester or himself to that extent. #laylit19

@therealvolpez Storms usually bring some sort of change and I feel like Shakespeare likes to show drastic character change through the use of storms. Through this one, Lear’s mentality has definitely changed!! #laylit19

@srutiyanamandra Although I do admire Edmund in some ways, I still like Hamlet WAY better! No matter what, Edmund still has extremely evil intentions while Hamlet simply wanted to avenge his father's death. #laylit19

@brookeaplit We can also see that the cause of his evil did not sprout from nothing!! He was probably denied the same recognition as Edmund HIS ENTIRE LIFE solely based on his status as a bastard which is definitely sad and unfair since they are both sons of Gloucester. #laylit19

@HannaKi81468159 I can definitely see your P.O.V for sure, but on the flip side, this might actually be admirable because it shows the extent Kent actually cares about Lear: like a father or brother. Anyone disrespecting Lear angers Kent that much because he cares about Lear that much #laylit19
