@Watch_LFC I am not against Slot, but the entire heirarchy deserves criticism. Selling Quansah, non-sense deal with Elliot, replacing really good stable keeper who got lot of experience from the best with the current one. And all these contract situations, only renewing dutch players.
@Shaswat4@teenkertaylor Anyhow, i don't want to argue on this anymore. I think printing cards with chips/NFC was taking enormous amount of time to print. It may also involve corruption on printing machine which breaks more often for some reason.
This idea is faster, not sure about secure 😂
@Shaswat4@teenkertaylor They used QR instead of bar code which gives the same data, a unique ID number. My European license has bar code so why not the industry standard in identity cards??
Again, i am saying, it's solution to faster printing, why won't you accept that?
@Shaswat4@teenkertaylor I do not have to carry plastic license. My license is in Apple wallet with bar code. The digital id was ready in 1 day and is only valid in my country of residence. So, your idea is not that bad.
Unfortunately, Apple wallet is not supported in Nepal. 😐
@Shaswat4@teenkertaylor Nice idea, if i can print my own license, then its a cost saving as long as police is able to verify my ID with my photo and my data. If NOT, jail time. So, why not? People are showing nagarik app to verify their license.
This could be the future. 😁
@Shaswat4 I think its better than what previous govt did with chips, NFC and all those readers wasting lot of time and resources on printing with the chips when it could have been solved by simple QR code. My driving license only has bar code printed, no fancy chips or NFC 🤔
@Shaswat4@teenkertaylor Doing all these will take months/years to design and implement, or maybe they didn't even came across this idea, you know Govt jobs.
@Shaswat4 NFC card itself costs more money, do you agree with me on that?
Printing QR is like printing your name on the card, and can be done in single process. You told earlier about saving cost/investment, right? So, in future, which one is saving time and money?
@Shaswat4 Imagine police are doing a "strict" random check on each and every vehicles on the street. Do you want them to scan, see your detail, let you go and then continue with others, OR do you want them to type each number, and you stay in queue?
@teenkertaylor@Shaswat4 Usability??? Again, your driving license is for the police( NOT OTHERS) to verify your identity. It is doing it's purpose(or will do in future😂)
Who is this usability for? you and me? that's violation for privacy.
Maybe they'll introduce an app that ONLY you can see your data
@Shaswat4 I think they found an easier and nicer solution to that nonsense chip and got rid of them which took lot of time to print and MONEY. That was the flaw from previous govt, and may be corruption.
Why not appreciate for the fact that having QR code is the solution to fast printing?
@teenkertaylor@Shaswat4 Why complicate those things when I can create an app that can "quickly" scan the QR, get the id of the user, and the app renders the user data.
And nagarik app should NOT show my past traffic records. They need to focus on that instead of allowing others to see from license.
@Shaswat4 I agree with you that their system feels cheaper, but i don't see any vulnerabilities unless someone else gets access to the app that reads the license id which only police should have. But, thats the risk with all kind of machine reader cards, what do you think?
@Shaswat4 I don't understand why do you want "encrypted format"? Isn't it enough that you don't know what that 6 digit number is for, hence secured?
Also, If i am building a new system, i do not want to search by license number, i would add new unique ID. Yes, they should have used UUID.
