Black people have always had faith in this country-a belief in the promise of America-in spite of our historical experience. It is finally time-it is past time-for America to justify that faith by making the systemic changes that are so obviously needed. No more promises. Action.
I am churchy. I am deep. I believe the Bible. I am overly spiritual. I plead the blood. I cast out devils. I dance. I quicken. I pray in the spirit. I believe in miracles. I prophesy. I preach Jesus. I am proud. Anyone else? Have a great day! 😄
Black people shouldn’t need to be morally perfect & spotless in order to deserve life & dignity.
Bearing God’s image should be enough......

I was entirely unprepared for these four words from Life Together: "God hates visionary dreaming.” I'm not sure Bonhoeffer could have written anything about leadership more fundamentally opposed to what I had learned and imagined practicing in ministry. https://t.co/8VolxrZKA8
Forgive yourself for being human. Then forgive the other person. Realize proximity and forgiveness have nothing to do with each other. You don’t ever have to let them in to forgive them. Wish them no evil and day by day don’t let them take up energy or thought and move on.
My 14 year old daughter happily got up and dressed to go out with my church’s evangelism team. For some reason, she enjoys knocking on doors, introducing herself to people, and talking with them about Christ.
