Is this the worst traffic junction in Preston? Queen St, New Hal Ln and London Rd. Congestion.
Surely there’s enough space to add an extra lane on London Rd from New Hall Ln to then have two protected lanes heading south across the junction bypassing the lights?

Preston Docks…
A success or a missed opportunity?
I suppose you could argue they are a success with reasonably busy retail/office units and apartments.. but could it be so much more? Distance from city centre is a factor.
A planning application which would allow the Odeon cinema to be converted to storage units looks set to be approved - but may never be carried out.

I wish something could be done with the old BHS store on Fishergate.
Such a blight in the city centre.
10 years in August. @prestoncouncil@blogpreston@BIDPreston@MatthewBrownLab is there a plan?
Compulsory purchase? Enforce a facelift? Anything?
Great to see non-food shops opening or about to open in Preston…
Deichmann for shoes and the return of Peacocks and Bonmarche. Hopefully more to follow.
With new Costa, other coffee shops and more food places…
@Swingbridge2@blogpreston It’s a new landowner… it was sold with the cinema as an active tenant. The land was also sold with the option of building more units on the substantial and underused car park.
@Swingbridge2@blogpreston From the application “.For absolute clarity, the current occupiers of the premises have not
advised the owners of any intention to cease operating the building as a cinema”
@Swingbridge2@blogpreston Continued… “ The purpose of this application
is solely to secure the lawful opportunity to move into an alternative use (if required) to prevent the building from
becoming vacant in the future.
Breaking: plans submitted to convert the long empty upper floors of the Miller Arcade into 46 apartments. Mainly 2 bedroom.
Would have liked to have seen a restaurant upstairs, but glad there’s plans.
Come on @prestoncouncil@MatthewBrownLab something needs to be done about the old BHS what a blight on the city. Empty nearly 10 years now. @BIDPreston
