This isn't unavoidable, it's negligence.
You have to pass on the tracks when there's enough room for the vehicle in front to move forward. It's absolutely out of the question when a train is coming.

1. Not stopping at railroad crossings
2. Motorcycles driving against traffic
3. Ignoring pedestrian crossings 4. Looking at smartphones while driving, etc.
