My gratitude to the First Lady of Cyprus, & the Cyprus Gambling Commission, for inviting me to speak on my books on gambling addiction in women. I was humbled by such a grand seminar & a wonderful receptive audience. #gamblingaddiction#WorldMentalHealthDay#womenempowerment
Many of my clients tell me they hid gambling from GPs and mental health professionals, fearing lack of understanding and judgment.

I was pleased to work with @AskGamblers on this campaign to increase understanding of why many struggling with gambling addiction suffer in silence.

To address gambling addiction I believe we need to talk rationally about products and advertising plus the mental health & social causes & consequencesof the addiction. It is complex, I understand, but hundreds of clients I've successfully treated over 20 yrs have proved it true.
Victoria Derbyshire disclosed nothing new. As an independent consultant & treatment provider I have never hidden my work with gambling industry, helping identify & help customers with problems. I continue to treat those with the addiction via paid and pro bono work.
20 years treating gambling addiction in women have taught me successful recovery requires taking into account mental health & social causes & consequences. Thank you @TheTelegraph__ for an interesting interview. https://t.co/oQo5HKTsOQ
The pressure of providing Christmas presents plus feeling "I'm not good enough" in early recovery raise the risk of relapse. Remember, those you love want more than anything the stable, fully present you that you are in recovery. #gamblingaddiction#recovery
It's Stir Up Sunday! Making a family Christmas cake costs twice as much as a shop bought one and is 100 times the hassle. So, why do we do it? It's love in action.
