It’s actually the meat and animal agriculture industry that uses up the most water, when we don’t need to buy or eat any meat or animal products at all. Vegans use 90%+ less land and water
@JamieWoodhouse I told my mother I wanted to be a vegetarian at age 10. She told me if I could cook my own dinners, fine. She thought I would fold.
Decades later, I am now vegan. And I learned to cook at age 10. Win-win.

“When I see a lamb, I think… I’ve given you a good life and I’ll now give you a good death. And you would never have existed in the first place if I hadn’t bred you so I could take you from your mother, kill you and eat parts of your body.”

I know councils don’t control these things, but it saddens me how many people across our UK 🇬🇧 vote for political parties who are planning mass deportations, internment camps, even more human rights reversals and even more isolationism 😢
I'm very impressed by Diane Morgan and those few celebs who will put their heads above the parapet to oppose factory farming. I suspect every celeb has an agent saying "just stay out of it" and it takes integrity to listen to the voice of conscience over the voice of the agent.
Sometimes a kid’s question, during a @sentientism worldview workshop, really sticks in my mind.
Like this one from a 9 year old: “If we really care about animals, why would we pay someone to kill them?”
◼️AWP is appalled at the death of Gold Dancer on Day 2 of the Grand National ‘Festival’ at Aintree today. He is understood to have fallen & suffered a broken back, yet whipped to win the race and a reported sum of £67,524. He collapsed at the finish and was killed.
Sadio Mane, a Senegalese soccer star, earns approximately $10.2 million annually. He gave the world a rude awakenng after some fans were flabbergasted when they saw him carrying a cracked iPhone 11. His response was awesome:
"Why would I want ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches, and two jet planes? I starved, I worked in the fields, played brefoot, and I didn't go to school. Now I can help people. I prefer to build schools and give poor people food or clothing. I have built schools and a stadium, provide clothes, shoes, and food for people in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people from a very poor Senegalese region in order to contribute to their family economy. I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips, and even planes. I prefer that my people receive some of what life has given me.
It is so difficult to understand why Trump launched his Iran operation - an op so clearly damaging to US national interests, the global economy, Ukraine and the US’ closest allies in Europe and the Gulf.
Then there is this….
Here’s the problem.
If you’re so “apolitical” that you welcome and promote racists and neo-fascists then you can’t also be “inclusive, diverse, and welcoming.”
You have to draw a line.
