What makes Trump a MALIGNANT narcissist?

It seems everybody today is a narcissist or knows somebody who is, which is exactly why the word has started to lose its meaning.

Malignant narcissism, however, is something different.

It is narcissism combined with specific psychopathological attributes that make a person genuinely unsafe to be around: antisocial behavior, pathological lying, sadism and paranoia, layered on top of a grandiose, entitled sense of self.

When asking yourself the extent to which Trump exhibits the malignant narcissistic profile of a destructive cult leader, the answer is clear! In Chapter 3 of The Cult of Trump, I described these attributes and compared Trump with Jim Jones, Moon, and Hubbard of Scientology.

Since returning to office, he has pictured himself as a Pope, a King and a superhero, recently called Los Angeles and San Diego being bombed “a very small price to pay,” mocked the grieving and the dead after ICE attacks, and told his followers the press, the polls and the courts are all conspiring against him.

But learning to recognize these traits matters far beyond politics, as the same profile shows up in families, workplaces, relationships and high-control groups.
