$NVDA IN TALKS TO INVEST HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS IN FIRMUS AFTER FAILED $5B IPO PUSH
Nvidia is reportedly considering another major investment in Australian AI cloud provider Firmus, which recently withdrew its planned public listing amid market volatility and investor concerns over its roughly $30B valuation, according to The Information.
Firmus is now seeking to raise at least $2B privately, with Nvidia potentially contributing hundreds of millions.
The company has already raised more than $13B, including roughly $10B in debt, and counts Blackstone, Coatue and Jane Street among its backers.
Nvidia previously agreed to provide credit support for Firmus to purchase server racks containing at least 170,000 Blackwell and Rubin GPUs, estimated to cost around $15B.
The potential investment comes as AI cloud providers face growing scrutiny over debt levels, infrastructure spending and their ability to generate enough revenue to support expansion.
Discussions remain ongoing, and the financing is not guaranteed.

I almost never use the word bubble, because I rarely find it analytically helpful. People have different definitions of it, and yes, it's usually said with some kind of value judgment.
IMO, it should only be used for pure "greater fool"-type trading, a la NFTs in 2021.
@Creditisoxygen If you think you know anything about how I’m personally positioned by the charts I post I’m afraid you’re up shit creek without a paddle. I also publicly disclose what single stocks I own.
@VKMacro I also think there is an element of “CRWV + Anthropic caused us to doubt near term demand just a little bit” that can get squeezed out via hyper reassurance alone
Have there been any signs that the $500B Nvidia-asset managers-Goldman kumbaya for AI infrastructure financing has been successful in credit wrapping the weaker hands?
@VKMacro I think we’re getting fairly zero sum-y again after enjoying a 1M stretch where hypers and semis were fairly correlated, so I guess by default I might?
